A very nice compilation distributed worldwide by Wire and produced by Xing. Fragments of Phonorama were recorded live at Raum, Bologna, in 2006-07 from two collective performances conceived by Riccardo Benassi for Xing. The original recordings were re-shaped and re-composed in Berlin by Valerio Tricoli and Riccardo Benassi. Phonorama is a live electronics happening generated from improvisations by 20 musicians to create a collective soundtrack. One long environmental suite involving some of the best artists in the Italian electronic music scene. An informal group grown alongside the cultural centre Raum, now operating in Bologna, Milan and Berlin. The Phonorama CD, as testimonial track, is the perfect anti-documentary for a fiction re-adapted to the fixed narrative of a compact disc. It speaks of a multi-practice, other-formatted generation attempting, indeed embracing, a divination in the desert rather than the drawing of boundary lines of it.

Includes tracks by Riccardo Benassi  / Roberto Bertacchini / Alessandro Bocci / Dafne Boggeri / Vittoria Burattini / Massimo Carozzi / Francesco Cavaliere / Fantasmagramma / Manuele Giannini / invernomuto / Marco Lampis / Luciano Maggiore / ootchio / Stefano Pilia / Claudio Rocchetti / Valerio Tricoli / Dominique Vaccaro.
