The Planetarium Project
SEDIMENTAL
sed2cd054 CDx2 2009

In 2007, Area C — the moniker for artist Erik Carlson — along with a range of collaborators took on a series of improvisational performances at the Cormack Planetarium in Providence, RI, an unusual setting for a music performance. From recordings of these events that Area C dubbed "The Planetarium Project" Sedimental records released this limited edition, double CD. With artwork by Erik, Amy Borezo of Shelter Books created and printed a beautiful paper CD case that has a concertina fold that holds the two CDs together. Printed silver on a dark blue paper, the packaging does a great job in conveying the darkness of the planetarium and the brightness of the stars against the sky.

This is a mail order/distributor run solely by one person, and based in Milano, Italy. The large selection of CD and LPs covers a really wide array of artists and labels, in addition it is also possible to find rare, out-of-print and sometime impossible-to-find editions of sound art and artists' records and gallery editions. Pricing and shipping policy is friendly and customer-oriented: you won't find any strange additional fee or 1-dollar-more-for-each-CD type of thing.
