Thunder Perfect Mind
2 CDs in a 6-panel Digipak. The original release of Nurse with Wound's gargantuan "Thunder Perfect Mind" in 1992 coincided with that of Current 93's homonymous genre-defining album. Legend has it that the gnostic name initially appeared to Steven Stapleton in a dream as the title of Tibet's then still nameless upcoming album. Both records feature contributions from David Tibet, Colin Potter, Rose McDowall, John Balance of Coil, Alan Trench of Orchis and Joolie Wood amongst others. The title and …

Salt Marie Celeste – Salt
2023 Restock. A welcome re-release, as an expanded version, of one of Nurse With Wound’s most notable albums. Originally recorded in 2002 by Steven Stapleton and Colin Potter, the piece ‘Salt’ was a limited edition release to accompany an exhibition of Stapleton’s artwork at The Horse Hospital in London. The following year ‘Salt Marie Celeste’ was released as a single 61 minute long piece of droning atmospheric sound that manages to be both minimal and maximal at the same time. A parade of stran…
In Fractured SIlence
Tip! Have you heard of the Nurse With Wound List? If you are a fan of creative-experimental-unlikely music, certainly. You would therefore be aware that amongst the recommendations that Steven Stapleton slipped into the first album of his group Nurse With Wound, were to be found a few restless frogs: Jef Gilson, Luc Ferrari, Jacques Thollot, Urban Sax, Horde Catalytique and last… but not least Jean-Jacques Birgé and Francis Gorgé. Stapleton admired their album Défense de. The two Frenchmen just …
Little Dipper Minus Two Plus (Echo Poeme Sequences)

The gigs were held on 6 & 7 May 2005 at The Anatomical Museum / Narrenturm, Vienna (Austria). Each concert was limited to 50 seats. Fun was h…
Brained By Falling Masonry/Cooloorta Moon
Tip! It could be argued that Brained and Cooloorta are the definitive Nurse With Wound E.Ps. Both classic and timeless fan favourites appear for the first time together on one single album. Both E.Ps marked a distinctive change in the NWW sound. Brained from 1984 showcases NWW at their mid 80’s finest. The relentless churning and uncompromising music of Brained by Falling Masonry is complimented by the eccentric mania of JG Thirlwell’s vocals. A Short Dip in Glory Hole takes us into the murky de…
Acts Of Senseless Beauty / Santoor Lena Bicycle
Re-issue of wonderful Nurse With Wound/Aranos collaboration, 'Acts Of Senseless Beauty/Santoor Lena Bicycle'.Available as a 2 CD set this release features new artwork by Steven.Includes an extra bonus track taken from the LP release of SANTOOR which was previously unreleased on CD.
Alas The Madonna Does Not Function
Tip! 1988 saw the release of several timeless and remarkable EPs from Nurse With Wound, one of those classics is Alas the Madonna Does Not Function. Madonna in some respect was a turning point for NWW. It’s a record that whilst unmistakably retaining that ineffable NWW character brought rhythmic and almost ‘musical’ elements into play. Madonna could be seen along with the Soresucker and Cooloorta Moon EPs as the bridge between the old and the new, the natural precursors to Thunder Perfect Mind a…
Du Suicide / The Hovels Of The Rich Or The Rigid Digit
What suicidal man has ever called on his readers to 'rush out of the circus' better than Alphonse Rabbe? It took the writer that he was - historian and journalist, too - to end his life before his only "real" book, Album d'un pessimiste, was published, thanks to the efforts of his nephew Lucien. The exaltation and licentiousness of the excerpt reprinted here were made for Nurse With Wound. The CD included in Du Suicide is thus the tenth collaboration of Steven Stapleton and Lenka lente's project.
Opium Cabaret
Contains the full Opium Cabaret album plus an additional 40 minutes previously unreleased studio material. Housed in deluxe full colour digipack with new art by Santini.
Trippin' Musik
Trippin’ Musik’ is Nurse With Wound’s most significant new dose in a while, collecting 3 epic discs of steeply psychedelic sonics that may well alter your breathing and heart rates and mental state. No tracklisting provided, play however tf you like.
Trippin' Musik
* This 2 CD set features 35 minutes of extra material not available on the vinyl release * Following from the reissue of NWW’s ’Soliloquy For Lilith’ boxset, ‘Trippin’ Musik’ relays the most recent findings from Steven Stapleton and co’s ongoing psychedelic research / surrealist reconnaissance / occult practice in electro-acoustic and avant-garde spheres. As the title suggests, it’s one for the journey, taking up whole sides of vinyl with intensely and intently focussed recordings that often tak…
To the Quiet Men From a Tiny Girl
Following on the footsteps of Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table, To the Quiet Men From a Tiny Girl was Nurse With Wound's second album and shows the group refining itself from the debut and adding a lot more dynamics. The record starts off with the very short Umbrella Link, really just some guitar riffing from engineer Nicky Rodgers as a concession for NWW. to use his recording studio, before segueing into the side-long She Alone Hole and Open.Along with the clattering and clanking percussion…
Barren
**In process of stocking** ICR is happy to announce our latest release - a double CD with 2 recordings of concerts by Nurse With Wound that are judged to be amongst their most unusual performances.  The first is from Florence in 2012 with the lineup of Steven Stapleton, Paul Beauchamp & Colin Potter. The second is from Karlsruhe in 2013 when the performers were Stapleton, Potter & Andrew Liles.  Disc 1 'Confluence' incorporating 'Letter from Topor' & 'Eyes's of a Scanning Girl' 55'57''  Disc 2 '…
Sinister Whimsy For The Wretched
Sinister Whimsy For The Wretched contains the long out-of-print albums, Sugar Fish Drink (1992) and Large Ladies With Cake In The Oven (1993). Both discs are remastered by Andrew Liles. You will never hear these better. Sugar Fish Drink, "Cod Surrealism", is a distinctly wet aberration on paranoid aesthetics occasionally coordinated by John Balance and Steven Stapleton. For Large Ladies With Cake In The Oven, all tracks were previously released in some form or another. Songs titles have been a…
The Surveillance Lounge / The Memory Surface

This is only visible from certain angles!  Nurse With Wound playing The Surveillance Lounge were and are Steven Stapleton, Andrew Liles, David Tibet, Nadja Belabidi, Lynn Jackson, Ollie Mathura O'Keeffe, Freek Kinkelaar, Miranda Kink…
Shipwreck Radio: Final Broadcasts
The final document. Shipwreck Radio is a series of albums by Nurse With Wound documenting their residency in Lofoten, Norway during June and July of 2004. Invited to stay in the unofficial capital, fishing village Svolvær, Steven Stapleton and Colin Potter were commissioned to produce 3 radio broadcasts per week for local station Lofotradioen of music constructed from whatever they heard or could find around the island. The project was instigated by Anne Hilde Neset and Rob Young of The Wire and…
