After their last release from 1982, the seminal "California Babylon", San Francisco industrial pioneers Factrix are back with a new studio album, recorded together with Italian duo Control Unit (whose critically acclaimed debut "The Fugitives" was released on Backwards last year). The quartet formed by Bond Bergland, Cole Palme, Silvia Kastel and Ninni Morgia moulds a new language of industrial music with guitars, bass and electronics, resulting in a fusion of acoustic and electric elements, primitive rhythms patterns and even blues. On top sits the ghostly, sexy, no-waveish voice of Silvia Kastel.

The collaboration started during Control Unit's US tour; Factrix attended one of their shows and were so enthusiastic that they invited the Italian duo to record with them. The LP was recorded in Spring 2012 at the Factrix studio in Berkeley, CA and later mixed by Silvia Kastel and Bond Bergland, then mastered by Scott Colburn in Seattle. Fans of classic industrial music, Throbbing Gristle, post punk, Confusion Is Sex era Sonic Youth will feel at home with this album, but it will also satisfy those who love the most extreme avantgarde experiments in music. The first pressing of the record will be accompanied by a limited edition 7" with bonus tracks. Cover artwork by Karen Constance (Blood Stereo) and an exclusive insert written by Seymour Glass (Bananafish).
