This legendary Spanish industrial-rhythmic combo from Madrid released several live releases during the past few years and now strikes back with "Pulsion". The 9 tracks were recorded in Bejing and Rome dealing with influences from traditional Arab and oriental music. The chants and samplings are the main characteristic of "Pulsion". It might sound a bit political-orientated, but the band clearly affirms to not transmit any political or ideological message. These input has been only used for its strength and sonority and the least I can say is that it's totally true! For all those who know this legendary band I can say that "Pulsion" sounds quite different from their traditional tribal-industrial power. "Pulsion" sounds less brutal becoming a kind of fusion between Muslimgauze (for the strong oriental side) and tribal-shamanic danceable rhythms. The sampled chants and words are irresistible and especially when mixed with the rhythmic arrangements. Arturo Lanz now living in Beijing and Saverio Evangelista now living in Rome evolved towards a new sound dimension and "Pulsion" sounds as the apotheosis of this new quest. The song "Sistema De Emisi?n" is in my opinion the climax of this album, but other cuts like "Japo", "Joven Comunista", "Michi Michi" and "Ensiladora JF-50" are all essential pieces of this overwhelming album. Esplendor Geométrico maybe lost in brute and primitive power, but improved the total writing while gaining a more refined, mysterious and danceable style, which remains industrial-like! This album will be also released on vinyl format! (Side-Line)
