An incredible long out of print 'cult' release either on musical and artistic profile: this project, the second release for the New International (N.I.R.) label, was a suitably absurd, logistically complex and expensive project: A limited edition of 1000 3 X 12″ Lp Box sets were divided up to form a series of 10 X 10 ‘canvas’ made of record covers. Ten painters were commissioned to paint a painting on each of the ten ‘canvasses’ which were photographed and made into ten postcards. the canvases we’re then broken up for sale into individual, unique, painting fragment boxes with a postcard collection as a record of the original painting: The cover painters included Xavier Veilhan (he did that unpleasant glass sculpture for Daft Punk) and Pierre Bismuth (co-author with Michel Gondry on the film ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’), Alfrede Stailey, Bertille Gentil, Constanza Aguire, Gut, I Grec, Isabelle Pechou, Isidore Pechou, La Trace, PC+T, R Stayle, and Tonio Garcia.

The only time the paintings were seen ‘complete’ and together was at the champagne and speed fuelled launch party at a gallery near the Buttes Chaumont in Paris. Achwghâ ney wodei performed in front of the paintings which were gradually disassembled by the audience selecting their favourite art fragment…
