Francisco Meirino

The Mute Fortress
*60 copies limited edition* Francisco Meirino's The Mute Fortress plays with the time and space of its sound materials.
He expands, unfolds and unwinds the ghostly voices that circulate in a jigsaw puzzle of sequences that the mind assembles as it sees fit.
Bain D'Arsenic
Tip! *2024 stock* Recorded at Arsenic - Centre d’art scénique contemporain in Lausanne, Switzerland, October 2016 by Ivan Verda. This record contains a single long and intense track, with a subtle and noisy character, a deep introspection into the feedback and layers of elusive electronics. A contemplative and intense journey. Recorded a few years ago at Arsenic - Center for Contemporary Scenic Art in Lausanne, Switzerland and reworked several times in recent years by the artists.

A Perpetual Host
A Perpetual Host is Francisco Meirino’s fourth full-length, solo studio album on Misanthropic Agenda.
Drainage, In Six Parts
Francisco Meirino is a sound artist based in Switzerland. His music explores the tension between programmable material and the potential for its failure. His interest lies primarily in what is not supposed to be recorded : the end of life of electronic devices, electrostatic noise, magnetic fields and the unconventional use of music hardware and sound systems and how to exploit these sonic failures in radically different ways in his sound pieces. His music combines intricate textures, sonic prec…

The Imitation Of An Action
These recordings are based on the idea of acoustic instruments imitating electronic sounds created by a live performer. The core, structure, and length of the pieces are defined by a graphic score that leaves room to the musicians for the imitation of those sounds. This work is a commission by Archipel Festival and Ensemble Contrechamps, with the support of the Nicati-de Luze foundation.

Maiandros
Testimony to the first encounter of the trio during a concert given at the cave12 on the 28.10.2020, on the same evening of the new Covid announcements which brought on a re-confinement in France, and eve to a six-month long shutdown of cultural places in Switzerland. A concert from which we emerged staggering and with burning ears due to the ongoing crisis surrounding us. A masterful sonic performance. Before silence. Drawing from the dense and intense sound material of the evening, Francisco M…
La Gueule Du Loup
Recorded at GRM Studios, Paris, 2015. Edition of 300 copies. "La Gueule Du Loup" explores raw improvisation in a crude, almost cruel manner. On stage the two musicians build musical sets free of pre existing structures or recorded sounds. The electronic matrix arises from the modules and is immediately propelled into the atmosphere. The two unpatched modular sythesizers first suggest a virgin circuit. Patches are built during the performance. Cosmetic memory plays a secondary role here, catapult…

A New Instability
In 2019, the power-acoustic musician Francisco Meirino presented A New Instability, a commission for the venerable Ina-GRM in Paris. Of course, this institution is the pre-eminent center for the research and study of electro-acoustic music dating back to the founding of Groupe de Recherches Musicales in 1958 by Pierre Schaeffer. To this day, Ina-GRM continues to be at the vangarde of the electro-acoustic composition, and it is quite an accomplishment and very appropriate for Meirino to receive s…
Dedans / Dehors
* 2020 Stock. Edition of 200. * As with Luc Ferrari, it is an assemblage of recorded sequences in which we recognize a succession of various events and we reconstruct in our imaginary a possible narrative that may have been at the origin of these sounds. This is not the sound landscape (Soundscape or Field recording) whose neutrality of the author must be one of the characteristics. It is not reportage. Above all, it involves the assembly, by montage and superposition, of sounds of different ori…
Hear After: Matters of Auditory Paranoia
**200 copies** "Francisco Meirino's work in my humble opinion speaks for itself. I'm just incredibly honored to be able to put this out for him and help promote it. If you really need a description to go on though, here is my brief thoughts on it. Masterful pacing and layering of eurorack textures, vertigo inducing frequencies, immersive field recordings, broken electronics and reel-to-reel tape. Francisco has a technique that I like to call "slow cuts" where he will make you zone out on a certa…
Three Realizations For Ensembles
Three compositions written by Francisco Meirino for ensembles. Utilizing pitch and timbre of traditional acoustic instruments Meirino’s unique compositional voice speaks out. Guiding the listener through tension and decompression, unease and malaise. Performed with Ensemble Vortex and Ensemble Phoenix in Basel, recorded during 2016-2019.Born in Spain in 1975, Meirino is active since 1994 (as Phroq until 2009) in experimental music and live performance. His music explores the tension between pro…
The Ruins
From the ruins of hours of multi-channel recordings created during his residency at EMS Stockholm, Francisco Meirino has created a definitive statement of time and discovery. Inspired by the Serge and Buchla modular synthesizers, he felt as if he were standing before ancient ruins, familiar yet unknown. After allowing these recordings to sit and decay over time, he discovered, when he finally came back to them, that all that was left were the pieces and ruins of sonic archives. The end result is…
La Plainte
This piece by Francisco Meirino, a commission by the Mos Espa Festival, is mostly composed from the (MEG) Geneva Ethnography Museum’s sound archives. Composed in 2016, it has been re-edited by the artist for this present LP edition by Cave 12 records. In the MEG's archives, I first looked for acoustic events that I’ve edited, filtered, and extracted from their original context. I thus obtained a sufficiently abstract sonic-substance to be able to transform it into a hypnotic, psycho-active sound …
Nonmenabsorbium
Prolific Swiss electronic composer Francisco Meirino (Misantropic Agenda, Entr'acte, Antifrost) and Basque country’s most prominent experimental musician Miguel A. Garcia aka Xedh (Crónica, Idealstate) team up and go for the rawest yet most carefully built electronic experimentation. No-input mixer, modular synth, field recordings & magnetic fields find themselves at the core of this true gem of radical electronic music, savvily handcrafted with by two experts of the genre.
Dissension
Digging inside yourself, requires a huge stash of patience & persistence to overcome every obstacle found. You have to dig down, deep enough, to discover something that will make you dig deeper & deeper. After listening to Francisco Merino’s “Dissension” you will appreciate the fact that you came out alive after all & this is certainly a good start, isn’t it?
Surrender, Render, End
First and foremost, Surrender, Render, End is an electro-acoustic dialectic, unremittingly engaged in a pugilist conflict between art and accident. The Swiss noise-composer Francisco Meirino began working on the skeleton for this piece in 2014 as a multi-channel, modular synth patch, which has been in an ongoing state of modification through public diffusions and private rumination. Meirino posits the album as a metaphysical puzzle of manipulated tape, atonal synthesis, and concrete sound. He is…
