Lori Freedman

Lori Freedman was born in Toronto in 1958 and lives in Montreal. She is a clarinetist, composer and improviser, and more than one hundred works have been written for or premiered by her. She has composed for the Ensemble contemporain de Montréal and Ensemble SuperMusique, and received the Freddie Stone Award in 1998. Her work has appeared on some twenty-eight CDs, including the solo albums Bridge and À un moment donné. On Mode/Avant she recorded On No On in duo with the drummer John Heward, and appears on his quintet album.
