Sunburst Lux
Both compositions on that record related to (more or less) to the “tape music”. The piece of Argentinian experimental master Anla Courtis is solely based on manipulated sounds of geyzers, recorded in South America. Ukrainian Edward Sol works with weird cassette loops, lo-fi oscillations and some primitive tones from his vintage USSR-made analogue synth Polyvox. Generally speaking, the sound of this record belongs to the monolith dark drone music.

Norwegian guitarist Håvard Volden (12-string guitar, objects) and Japanese master Toshimaru Nakamura (no-input mixing board) recorded these two pieces in Norway in 2008, creating what one Norwegian reviewer calls "a timbre based album with some auditory surprises." The music is "slow and quiet, with contrasting elements. A cutting tone, a crackling flicker, or a deep bass tone gives the progress colour. Another week, another fine drone/ambient release, this one is from Jason and Shinobu through the mercurial Install. Slow waves of evocative drifting textures are randomly assaulted by sinister outbursts of grizzled fuzz, creeping up the sides of the stately walls like curious splashes of acid whilst someone in the distance metrononically taps a length of piping in an echo chamber.
