Nurse With Wound
Nurse With Wound is the project of Steven Stapleton, started in London in 1978 with John Fothergill and Heman Pathak and, since 1981, effectively a solo venture with a changing cast of collaborators. The first album, Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table and a Sewing Machine (1979), came with a list of obscure records that influenced it, and the Nurse With Wound list has been a map for explorers of strange music ever since. Stapleton's own music is surrealist collage: tape edits, found sounds, drones and voices assembled with a painter's eye and a taste for the absurd.
