Dave Phillips
Dave Phillips, who signs his work dp, was born in Zug, Switzerland, in 1969 to a British father and a French mother, and lives in Zürich. He co-founded the Swiss grindcore band Fear of God and has worked solo since 1987. He later joined the Schimpfluch-Gruppe, the loose circle around Rudolf Eb.er and Joke Lanz devoted to psycho-physical tests and actions. Phillips describes his output as ritual protest music, with ecological concerns and an idea he calls humanimalism at its centre. He has appeared on hundreds of releases, for labels such as Schimpfluch Associates, Tochnit Aleph and Blossoming Noise, and his concerts often combine sound with video and physical action.
