After recording "In the Court of the Crimson King" as founding members of King Crimson, Multi-instrumentalist Ian McDonald and drummer Michael Giles made a blunder of a career move and left the band, forming the no-so-cleverly titled McDonald And Giles. Lack on originality aside, they managed to record one self-titled album of fine quality prog music. The style is a less bombastic take on the first two King Crimson albums.
