Split
New split album from Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth/Northampton Wools/Dream Aktion Unit et al and Graham Moore of To Live And Shave In LA/Black Meat/Blossoming Noise et al. Edition of 500 copies on marbled, coloured 140g vinyl with pro-pressed sleeves. Thurston's side is a torrent of guitar noise that scales almost Prurient levels of electronic barbarism cut-up with plateaus of achingly-extended feedback, one of his most flat-out damaged conceptions to date. Graham's side is more based around tap…
Uretakumo Nakunarutorika
The LSD March hare hops its winding way through another Wonderland of its own making with a brand new kraut influenced album "Uretakumo Nakunarutorika". These ever indefinable Japanese psych monsters have coughed up a syrup-soaked album of broken tribal psychedelia. Their distended view of plunderphonic percussion gurgles like a drum'n'base-jump into a vat of psilocybin wine. And then things get weird.

Keith Wood, along with constant foil Leon Dufficy, is Hush Arbors, and while his self-titled Ecstatic Peace! debut is not his first album by any means - he's been at this almost ten years - it does provide the perfect introductory point to Hush Arbor's distinctive take on psych folk. Combining the pensive songwriting of John Phillips circa Wolfking, the plaintive honesty of Neil Young, and the fishtank-gazing cacophony of Six Organs of Admittance (Wood is a frequent collaborator), Wood writes cl…
Pale Fatal Sister
Limited edition of 700 copies. Double LP pressing housed in a gatefold jacket. Being a Nabokovian and visceral garden of delights, a musical evocation of memory and desire spread over four sides of vinyl. The sound is conjured forth from dark wells to be birthed, twisting and screaming in silver winds. Recorded at Black Dirt Studios, over an intensive three-day period of hermetic isolation, while snow blanketed the surrounding fields, this work is both more detailed and conjures a heavier, more …
This Coming Gladness
This is Colorado-based Josephine Foster's (Born Heller, The Supposed) debut release for Bo Weavil Recordings, and her third full-length album. This Coming Gladness is the highly-awaited follow-up to 2006's A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing on Locust. This Coming Gladness is transcendental fin de siècle songs from one of the great unsung voices and songwriters of our modern times. Josephine Foster unites rarely united royal realms: self-penned operatic art songs cast in freely-rendered blues with electr…
The great learning
Long out of print, very rare nowadays - The Great Learning was one of British composer Cornelius Cardew's most important works, a series of seven "paragraphs" with text from the writings of Confucius and scored for generally large numbers of both trained and untrained performers. The original productions of this piece, in fact, served as the genesis of the legendary pro-amateur Scratch Orchestra. This 2000 release includes three of the paragraphs, two from the 1971 Deutsche Grammophon album that…

Let It Out: Poems In Words And Music
Gray-area reissue. From 1971. Incredible Kraut/funk meeting of U.S. expatriate and the cream of the German rock scene: Achim Reichel, Conny Plank, Wolfgang 'Zabba' Lindner (drums, ex-Wind), Peter Hecht (piano, from Lucifer's Friend) and many others. Dymon, probably better known for his role as 'Black Power Militant' in Godard's Sympathy For The Devil and as director of the super-obscure Death May Be Your Santa Claus, mellifluously rants on subjects such as past sexual conquests, racial injustice…
Weapons of Ass Destruction
With a set of puns that would have even The Sun blushing, Diskaholics Anonymous' new album 'Weapons Of Ass Destruction' (quiet at the back!) sees the leftfield super-group of Thurston Moore, Jim O'Rouke and Mats Gustafsson reforming for some avant/jazz/improv/punk/noise/kitchen-sink buisness. Ear-plugs, as ever, are optional... Comprised of two XXXtended tracks, the handily titled 'Weapons Of Ass Destruction Part 1 & 2' revel in their free-wheeling jazz roots; with Sweden's Gustafsson belligeren…
Microcastle / Weird Era Continued
Includes a bonus disc containing an entire second album recorded a few months after Microcastle, entitled Weird Era Continued. Here it is, the highly anticipated follow-up to 2007's Cryptograms album, which launched the band into the stratosphere of hype. Whether or not that was or is deserved is entirely subjective. Microcastle was recorded over the course of a week at Rare Book Studios in Brooklyn, New York with Nicolas Verhes in April of this year. The album was recorded as a four-piece consi…
Original Darkness
The latest album from the longtime Charalambides mainstay follows her Electrice album from late 2006 on Kranky as well as a split album with Pocahaunted from early in 2008. Christina Carter has a gift. In a world where most people shy away from the truth, from honesty in emotion, Christina has the strength to address those feelings head on through her music. Within the songs of Original Darkness, she confronts loneliness, self doubt, inadequacy and desire. She bares these emotions in a sometimes…
Migraine Inducers / Antagonistic Music
Martyn Bates' elusive work as Migraine Inducers issued before his involvement with Eyeless in Gaza finally gets released on CD. Originally circulated on cassette in a tiny quantity as Dissonance/Antagonistic Music in 1979, it later saw a marginally wider release in the United States in somewhat abbreviated form. The complete version of this legendary album is included here, as is a second disc recorded in 1994 with Gaza partner Peter Becker to complete the work.

Axiologue / Thermidor One Five
Crafted in their fine tradition, Aufgehoben continue to carve harsh chunks of noise with this, their first departure on 7" vinyl. guitar and electronics sound like neither, while sprawling percussion tumbles across the rotten landscape. The two tracks on this monochromatic record jump right for the jugular, leaving little time for subtlety or reflection. not recommended for antique styluses. There are 524 copies of this picture disc record.
Khora
"Khora" is the fifth full-length by Aufgehoben. Since the release of their previous album, "Messidor", the group has somewhat relaxed their strict commitment to anonymity by allowing their names to be known and photos to be taken, and even playing a few well-received live shows. "Messidor" may have been mellower, but the progression displayed on "Khora" leads one to believe that full-on rock may be in the cards for this group, who have seemingly removed the elbow patches from their jackets and r…

Kings with Straw Mats
A pilgrimage into the heart of India's greatest sacred celebration, the Kumbh Mela which takes place every 12 years. Filmmaker and poet Ira Cohen brings us face to face with an unforgettable gathering of holy men and into the heart of a visionary experience by rendering it as it really is: a circus of high madness, true devotion and showbiz savvy. The Kumbh Mela takes its name from the Hindu legend which tells how four drops of the gods holy elixir fell to the earth from a "kumbh" or…
Cinque frammenti all\'Italia / Versuch uber Sprache
Original 1st pressing on German Deutsche Grammophon Avant Garde series, that are by far the most scarce and hard to find, released in a really very small quantity and most never re-released on any format. It features an amazing work by Sylvano Bussotti and Nicolaus A.Huber: "Cinque Frammenti All'Italia" was composed in 1967/68. As opposed to the "cosmic" music, accomplished by the accumulation of musical happenings or mathematical treatment of masses, which becomes more and more common from Stoc…
The last LP
If i might say so, this is my favourite Faust album, a true masterpiece being the unreleased "Faust Party" tapes, Recorded in Germany in 1971 and released by recomended in 1988. This the very first edition limited to 1988 numbered copies with a silkscreened jacket.
Munic & Elsewhere
Featuring material recorded before and after their 10 year disappearance it proves to be as ageless as the Faust legend itself. Their music is as restless as it ever was. Nomadic in their defiance of borders on time and space, their mostly improvised pieces move like sandstorm drifts across the broad span of rock. They occasionally settle on a familiar landmark, only to distort or blanket its shape completely under wave upon wave of crackling electronics and treated guitar. Limited to 1000 copie…
