Deeply tied to the composer’s own life, the narrative of Lacrimosa invites reflection in the face of loss. This sonic work draws inspiration from Alice Coltrane’s spiritual Eternity (1976) as well as the traditional structure of the Requiem, a mass for the dead. One of its sections, the Dies Irae, evokes Judgment Day and concludes with the Lacrimosa (literally, “full of tears”), depicting the weeping of souls in search of salvation.
In Lacrimosa, Low Jack transforms autobiographical elements int…
Ned Collette's last album, the 2LP set Old Chestnut (FTR 362-2LP), was hailed as a masterpiece by 'most everyone who heard it. Part of this was due to the darkly delicate lyrics and vocals of Ned himself (akin to the work of Graeme Jefferies, ca. This Kind of Punishment), but much was also due to the elegant lyricism of the music, which had a fantastic prog/folk heft as impossible to peg as it was to ignore. With this new LP, Collette (an Australian ex-pat, now based in Berlin) goes all-instrume…
*250 copies limited edition* Originally released in 1992 via Tesco, »Cancer« was recorded one year earlier by Thymme Jones, Dan Burke, Mark Klein, Mitch Enderle, Chris Block, and Jim O'Rourke.
This one was mostly a group effort focused on a dark ambient atmospheric environment and experimental minimalism that crawls under your skin. Mark & Thymme’s heavy synth is omnipresent, Mitch & Chris scraping every piece of scrap metal they could find, Jim’s extended piano & tabletop guitar is apparent, t…
Suns of the Heart, the sixth solo album from Colin Fisher, unfurls a suite of intricate, emotionally charged improvisations that blend treated guitar, elemental electronics, and gestural samples. Across six movements, Fisher crafts an enveloping soundworld where each texture pulses with meditative warmth and restless sonic curiosity.
iji (pronounced "ee-hee") is songwriter Zach Burba's tenured, pop coalition. Bred in Phoenix and fully flowered in Seattle, iji has been touring the American underground for 14 years, releasing a countless number of beloved LPs and tapes and pressing pause only for Zach to join the roving swarms of friends like Mega Bog, Dear Nora, and Clyde Peterson, whose Torrey Pines film (2016) featured a live touring soundtrack by Zach and others. iji, their self-titled 11th release, is a crucial wander thr…
First graspable release by Leaf Peepers, a Massachusetts duo comprised of Turner Falls' Omeed Goodzari and Worcester's Nick Bisceglia. Omeed is well-known hereabouts as member of Donkey No No, and also for his solo recordings, which include the superb Zoltar Hid All the Locks / Minnows LP (FTR 349LP, 2018). Nick has recorded with his band Husks, and has also participated on sessions by Wendy Eisenberg and Chris Weisman among others. In fact, the both of them helped out on Chris's last album, Rom…
Here is the first Lazy Magnet LP since 2019's Mahogany. And it's a beautiful instrumental album which has known many iterations since it was first conceived. Lazy Magnet has long been the home recording project of Jeremy Harris. Over the course of its long arc the actual music has taken many forms -- this time he has chosen to dedicate an entire body of work on a single instrument: the acoustic piano. The initial idea for Make It Fun Again dates to 2007, when Harris and his buddy Robert Parker (…
First LP, after several fine cassettes & CDRs, by this psych project helmed by Brian Lucas. Lucas is best known these days for his bass work with Dire Wolves Just Exactly Perfect Sisters Band, but he has a hand in many other California psych outfits. The Wolves have been quiet vis-a-vis new recordings lately, but Old Million Eye has been pretty busy. Often the OME moniker represents solo work, but this time Brian has recruited Dena Goldsmith-Stanley (3 Moons) and Steven R Smith (an old band mate…
Feeding Tube Records is excited to present the first North American release by this amazing Japanese sound artist. Yosuke Fujita goes by the name FUJI|||||||||||TA, perhaps so he won't be mistaken for the guitarist of the same name who plays with Better Days, or perhaps because he just likes to hear people try to figure out how to say, 'FUJI|||||||||||TA,' properly. Either way, FUJI|||||||||||TA is a wonderful avant-garde project that has been active for almost two decades. In its current iterat…
Reissue of the very limited debut LP by this Massachusetts-based musician. We first ran into Kass's Good Cry label when she put out Jordan Perry's eponymous debut, which we promptly reissued (FTR 376LP). And we are well pleased to be able to do the same for The Language Shadow -- a most excellent album by all known metrics. Kass (who works with Meg Remy's U.S. Girls) sings and plays guitar, dulcimer and small instrument-style percussion. Recorded at Montreal's Hotel2Tango, her music has the clea…
2025 stock "Jonny Kosmo, the Los Angeles (via New England) registered therapist and home recordist is a card-carrying expert in the shape of your desire and the horizon of meanings your dreams catalyze. In his briefcase lives his weapons grade kaleidoscope, a 1972 Mayfair recorder, and a neatly folded pair of pants that fits seamlessly to the shape of your longing. His armchair prescriptions for the zeitgeist hover ever present on his most recent LP Pastry which hits you Like 69 cc of heady nost…
* Edition of 200 * Baljuw is the improvisation project of Matthias Dewilde (Nagløed, Matterhorn Well) and Nicolas Van Belle (Suura, Ever Present, Sarcastic Fringehead). Although the two musicians were longtime friends, it still took until 2023 for the two to begin “playing” together, stimulated by a shared interest in sound, texture and transformation. A series of improvisation sessions and some tasteful performances (including at the Ghent Citadelic festival) followed, which only stimulated the…
In October 1995, as part of the annual Polar Music Festival, Geir Jenssen of Biosphere and Bobby Bird of The Higher Intelligence Agency, were commissioned by Nor Concerts to collaborate together on a musical project to take place in Geir's home town of Tromsø, Norway. The brief was for them to perform three concerts, using sounds sourced from the area as the basis of the music - the machinery of the local mountain cable lift, the snow, the ice. The performances from which this recording is taken…

On October 30, 2021, Brainwave Music No. III was recorded live as part of a series of ten groundbreaking Brain Wave sound installation performances by Ilpo Väisänen and Dirk Dresselhaus (die Angel). The event took place in the evocative setting of the Life on a Leaf House in Turku, Finland.
At the core of this performance was an interactive system driven by brainwave interfaces. Harnessing the performers’ neural activity, the system enabled Väisänen and Dresselhaus to directly process and shap…
Glasgow-based Effective Dreaming—the solo project of Scottish artist and musician Iain Ross—unveils Dream Catalogue Vol. 1, arriving June 21st, 2025 (Summer Solstice) via Swedish experimental label Fluere Tapes.
Issued as a limited run of 50 cassettes, each adorned with hand-worked, corroded copper sheet inserts and labels, Dream Catalogue Vol. 1 feels less like a release and more like an unearthed artefact: weathered, humming, quietly alive. The materials echo the music’s exploration of fragile…
ARBORE is the collaborative project of French-born, Berlin-based artists Diane Barbé and Laure Boer, navigating the wide spectrum of electroacoustics, instrument building and radical improvisation. "Genuinely loose-limbed and exquisitely zonked, Diane Barbé and Laure Boer's ARBORE debut marries electroacoustic sound design to basement psych-folk, where homemade Vietnamese zither, flutes and whistles float around gloopy analog synths like some lost Nate Young plays Folkways record, or the deepest…
"As a concoction of whirring, electronics-strewn field recordings, this over fifty minute piece is intoxicating in its intimacy, like drifting half asleep through various conversations, rituals, prayers. As a piece which considers the “complex entanglements of migrant stories, memory, identity, otherness”, it feels urgently, cacophonously important, a sonic insight into our shared humanity" — Spenser Tomson In this project, Paul and Masimba capture almost five years of conversation as they stood…
