1/2 Japanese

Country: United States

Half Japanese (also written 1/2 Japanese) is an American art punk band formed in the mid-1970s in Uniontown, Maryland, by the brothers Jad and David Fair. The band's history and its influence on later underground rock are the subject of the 1993 documentary Half Japanese: The Band That Would Be King. Half Japanese issued the EP Calling All Girls in 1977 and the triple LP 1/2 Gentlemen/Not Beasts on Armageddon in 1980, followed by Loud (1981). Sing No Evil appeared on Iridescence in 1985.
