Demdike Stare
Demdike Stare is a Manchester duo of producer Miles Whittaker and DJ Sean Canty. Their music, released on Modern Love, moves through dark ambient, dub and electronic textures, and draws on jazz, library music, industrial sound and the history of witchcraft and the occult. Their early records were gathered on Tryptych (2011) and Elemental (2012), and the Testpressing 12-inch series later took them towards club rhythms. Demdike Stare released Symbiosis in 2009 and Liberation Through Hearing and Voices of Dust in 2010.
