For Marco Bellocchio's masterpiece debut film I pugni in tasca (Fists in the Pocket) (1965), Ennio Morricone composed some mysterious and obsessive music for soprano voice, harp, harpsichord, and strings, alternating with lounge music of the period, swing, and jazz to create a great contrast with the dark mood of the movie.
