Hans Tutschku

Remembering Japan
Hans Tutschku’s hour-long five-part cycle from 2016-22, built from recordings of daily life, ceremonies, nature and improvisations gathered during three months in Japan in 2014, composed for 16 channels and heard here in stereo.
Moment
Hans Tutschku’s first empreintes DIGITALes portrait: five works from 1991 to 1998 built on voice and speech, from poems by Georg Trakl, Karl Lubomirski and Antonio Bueno Tubía to recordings from a 1997 Asian tour in extrémités lointaines.
Firmament
Three 16-channel works by Hans Tutschku from 2010 to 2014, mixed to stereo in 2015: a sleepless night under the stars, the old pianos in a hallway of the University of Cologne, and Issho ni, a half-hour ritual of folksongs, lullabies and prayers.
