**100 copies, 2019 stock** Recorded in 2012, 'A New Beginning' documents the latest phase of the ongoing collaboration between Celestino and Jams P Valentine, a partnership that also yielded 2009’s 'Sky Burials'. The compositions on this Secret Courts album were created through a staggered, elastic process, with Celestino weaving sonic backcloths on which Valentine could embroider a response. The production is conversational and complementary, but yields a panoramically conceived sound world – t…
**250 copies** Love All Day follows up last year’s Planetary Peace reissue with Warren Sampson’s little-known ambient masterpiece 'Traveller'. Hailing from Minnesota and inspired by the early work of Brian Eno and Jon Hassell, Sampson infused their compositional modes with a self-effacing and distinctly Upper Midwest approach that is equal parts isolated and expansive. 'Traveller' was recorded in a bedroom closet studio on a four-track TEAC reel-to-reel between the late 1970s through the mid 198…
**300 copies** Il Grande Silenzio is a project by Japanese artists Atsuo Ogawa and Minoru Sato. On 'Dry Lake' they offer two minimal compositions that feature banjo, field recordings and electronics.
**200 copies** Roberto Crippa is an italian sound-artist based in London and here is his third album. The refined work of "Ascent" is a deep dive into a dense and gloomy mixture of boulder rhytms, distressing atmospheres and sinister clangors. Although it could be easily ascribed to the industrial genre as well to more sleepy, nebulous and crumpled drifts of (post)techno realms, there’s something strongly personal and idiosyncratic that flows as decisive detail through the grooves of this record…
** 525 copies ** Paul Régimbeau, aka Mondkopf, joins the Hands in the Dark ranks with a new album, "How Deep Is Our Love?". For more than a decade now the prolific Parisian producer hasn’t ceased to surprise us with his compositions, constantly treading new ground with artistic bravery and curiosity. At times extreme, at other times méditative and always complex, his music is never easy-access. In recent years his work has taken a clear turn towards a more ambient, intimate, less abrasive style.…
Clear vinyl; Edition of 500.
Although Sir Richard Bishop (SRB) and W. David Oliphant (WDO) worked together periodically in the '80s through Sun City Girls and Maybe Mental,
they never set out to simply work together as a duo. Fast forward to
2011, SRB, feeling the need to temporarily step out of his solo guitar
zone, approached WDO with the idea of this joint collaboration... Beyond All Defects was composed and recorded live in the studio in Phoenix, Arizona in December of 2011 (remastered …
**CD edition** While the Sound Reporters imprint, which ran intermittently between the early 80s and 90s - specializing in the sounds of anthropology, ethnomusicology, religion, travel and history, hailed from Amsterdam, those aware of this obscure cassette label will probably only be the most developed fans of Italian avant-garde. It was Sound Reporters that issued the incredible collaboration between Pit Piccinelli, Fred Gales, and Walter Maioli, Amazonia 6891, reissued by Black Sweat in 2016,…
CD Edition. Ethnoelectronics, issued on cassette by Sound Reporters in 1986, exists beyond the realm of easy definition. Very little information about the album exists, other than the fact that it involved the contributions of a remarkable group of sonic explorers - Walter Maioli, Nirodh Fortini, Fred Gales, Raffaele Serra, John Zandijk and the sculptor Edward Luyken, and was conceptualised as the soundtrack for an obscure science-fiction saga. Or was it?The title makes clear allusion to the ide…

** 300 copies** With his innovative performances, Berlin-based trumpeter Axel Dörner has been a leading figure on the improvised music scene since the 1990s. Internationally popular no-input mixing board player/improviser Toshimaru Nakamura structures sound by controlling mixer feedback. These two musicians released the CD "Vorhernach" on the Ftarri label in 2007, and In "Cotton and Wool" is their second duo album. The four tracks on this album (each between 7 and 12 minutes) were recorded in a …
In February 2017 Moving Furniture Records released "1", the first LP by Radboud Mens and Matthijs Kouw. The album consists of two long drone tracks that make you forget music is a time-based art. Music that immerses you in a warm bath of frequencies that are evolving slowly around you, revealing you all sides and details of a sonic sculpture. With this second release, which is simply titled "2", Mens and Kouw continue their exploration of long-form drone. By using precisely tuned analogue synthes…
Zonder Stroom, meaning 'sans electricity', was a short-lived program curated by Extrapool with performances that were completely without electricity (no amplification, no lights, no fridge) and one bleak and damp winter's afternoon we drank coffee and decided to use all the electricity there was, recording any keyboards, synthesizers and electronics they could lay their hands on. Then they tried to make sense of that day. This album features mixes and remixes of one joyful and intensely creative…

**Limited and numbered to 150 copies** "Object Shape Description" is the debut recording by Brussels based Italian artist Marco Lampis. Lampis works between the visual and auditory disciplines, creating installations both with and without sound, in which discrete sensory perceptions become entangled. How might we understand sound through sight or be able hear by looking? This collection of recordings is inspired by the rhetorical figure of Ekphrasis in which a visual artwork is described verball…
**300 copies** Alessandra Eramo’s new solo album "Tracing South" is a sonic enchantment through the use of extended vocal techniques, analog electronics and her hypnotic field recording of bagpipe (zampogna) during the Carnival rites in Southern Italy. She shapes mouth noises, breath, whispers, her invented languages, fragmented words, the sound of old tape recorders, handmade theremin and synth, and she creates a sound poetry composition that seems to evolve into a shamanic trance music. Polyph…
2018 release ** "INERT/E is Lars Åkerlund (electronics) and Kasper T. Toeplitz (bass and electronics). After years of navigating in similar musical idioms - somewhere between noise, contemporary or “experimental” music – using traditional instruments as well as electronic or digital devices (Åkerlund used to be a classical guitarist, Toeplitz composed many orchestral or ensemble pieces), now they both make a large use of computers. They have worked with Dror Feiler and Zbigniew Karkowski, among …
To The Scaffold is the new solo material from Clay Kolbinger (Math Balance Volumes, Private Anarchy) under his Termite Acropolis moniker. Decaying tape music is spread across the 6 pieces of this tape, completing a foggy wilderness.
Misopedia is Allen Mozek’s (Good Area, No Intention, Vitrine ) first release under his own name. Side A consists of Anatomy of Nothing, while Earthbound Editions constitutes the B side. In November 2016 while working on new material, Kostas Kefalianos recorded several ideas on tape between Kos & Athens. Almost a month later, all this recorded material had been rearranged and mixed by Panos Alexiadis who filtered and captured some of the best moments included in those tapes and eventually ended up in Phlegma, the second release from Kefalianos on Thalamos.
Martin Bartlett was an inspiring and original thinker, composer, writer, performer, and organizer. His preoccupation with building aleatoric elements into electronic music distinguishes his work. He devised elegant and open interactions for instrumental performers and computer-controlled synthesizers which included building his own electronic devices and extensive work on the Buchla 400. He worked with or studied under Pauline Oliveros, John Cage, and David Tudor, and collaborated extensively wi…
