*Warehouse find* After the convincing performance at the fifth Jazz Festival di Sanremo 1960, Basso and Valdambrini realized for Jolly the third album, adding to the original formation of the quintet that has recorded the album LPM 2079, the promising trombonist Dino Piana. Also included you will find a track of Valdambrini and Basso dedicated to Turin, in perfect California style: the folk song “Ciao Turin”.

Francesco Battiato was born on 23 March, 1945, in Jonia, a small town in the province of Catania. After attending the secondary school he moved to Milan to seek his fortune as a musician, but without any significant results during the first years. Giorgio Gaber listened to him by chance and, sensing his talent, recommended him to Ricordi, who didn’t want to engage him.
