Sei Note in Logica
Huge Tip! **Much-needed 2024 Reissue. Comes with bonus CD with acoustic version of the entire LP.** 1979's Sei Note in Logica is Italian experimental composer Roberto Cacciapaglia's second LP, a minimalist album that features one continual composition. Cacciapaglia follows in a tradition begun by other Italian modernists like Giusto Pio and Franco Battiatto but he also adds in phase-oriented playing that really opens things up a beautifully lyrical vibe that's probably most close to Terry Riley …
Stalker / The Mirror
Back in print ! Edward Artemiev's re-recording of his scores to Andrei Tarkovsky's classic films Зеркало (Mirror) (1975) and Сталкер (Stalker) (1979), reissued on 180-gram vinyl. When Artemiev recorded these scores in Moscow in 1989 and '90, there were no legitimately available releases of the original soundtracks. Artemiev chose to fill that void himself with these recordings, released on Torso Kino in the Netherlands as part of a 1990 double-LP set also containing re-recordings of Artemiev's s…
Summer Into Winter/North Marine Drive
Everything But the Girl band member Ben Watt was strongly influenced in his first steps by mentor Robert Wyatt. This LP starts with Summer Into Winter, the legendary 1982 EP written and performed together by the duo of Watt and Wyatt, and continues with the English folk milestone North Marine Drive, originally released in 1983. Including a rare gem cover of Dylan's "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go," this album is a must for all fans of Nick Drake. Pressed on virgin white vinyl; limited…

Music composed by Roberto Cacciapaglia for soprano, counter-tenor, and instrumental ensemble, based on the poem "De rerum natura" ("On the Nature of Things") by first-century Roman poet and philosopher Titus Lucretius Carus. The wok was commissioned for the Aterforum festival in Ferrara, Italy, and premiered on July 9, 1988. This is the first release of a performance recorded live at Glance Studio, Milan, Italy, on June 28, 1988. Produced by Roberto Cacciapaglia and Gianpiero Dionigi.
In C

The Ann Steel Album
Mirumir presents The Ann Steel Album, a reissue of an album of Roberto Cacciapaglia compositions sung by Ann Steel, originally released in 1979 as a self-titled album credited to Steel. "So who are Roberto Cacciapaglia and Ann Steel? The former is an Italian musician who specialized in electronic composition after starting his career in the early 1970s on the edges of the krautrock scene. The latter is a Michigan-bred singer who spun into Cacciapaglia's orbit during a trip to Italy in the …
Generazioni del cielo
Originally released in 1986, Italian pianist and composer Roberto Cacciapaglia's Generazioni del Cielo is a contemporary musical work in the form of oratory; it is born from a development of matured musical language across polyvalent experiences, ranging from classical to pop composition. The subject originates from the will to tell an unusual story, a story without events but with real emotions, drawing from contemporary literature and sacred texts. In the production, the music, which was…
Africa
Africa, originally released in 1992 on Materiali Sonori, may be a late entry in the Embryo catalog but it is one of their most ambitious and truly progressive albums to date. As the name implies, the Munich group not only draws influence from the continent to their south, but also employs an African percussion ensemble on many tracks. A hypnotic and beautiful affair reissued for the first time since its original release. Presented on LP with CD included.
Zack Gluck
Effortlessly fusing krautrock with jazz and ethnic music, Embryo were unparalleled in the world of progressive fusion and 1984's Zack Glück is one of their most ambitious and rewarding LPs. Flutes and saxophones mix with oud, marimba and violin to make an intoxication concoction. Originally released on Italian's Sonori label, Mirumir is pleased to present the very first official vinyl reissue of this prog classic.
Embryo's Rache
Despite being released only a year after their debut - in 1971 - Embryo’s Rache hows the band progressing significantly towards the ethnic/world-rock fusion that would come to be their stock in trade. Though still firmly in the jazz/krautrock realm, the album contains deep Eastern flourishes that separate them from the standard progressive crowd. A stunning album from Christian Burchard’s Munich group reissued here with a bonus track, “Back To Africa”, recorded live in 1973
Solaris By Andrej Tarkovsky
Originally only officially available on a ultra-rare Japanese pressing, Mirurmir is incredibly pleased to announce the first issue of the groundbreaking and mindblowing soundtrack to Tarkovsky’s masterpiece, Solaris, in 20+ years. Composed by the electronic music pioneer, Edward Artemiev, Solaris was the first project in what proved to be a fruitful collaboration between director and composer. An absolutely essential piece of electronic music and Russian cinema history, lovingly reissued in a go…

Time to Decide
A compilation of rare studio and live tracks from the band, circa 1978-1980, not on RVNG Intl.'s Music Is Painting In The Air... collection. On 180 gram vinyl with CD of the album. "Formed by Florentine guitarist Franco Falsini (formerly of Noi Tre) and American drummer Keith Edwards, Sensations' Fix was one of the most exciting acts to come out of the Italian music scene of the 1970s. Beginning in 1974, from their outpost in the Florentine countryside, Falsini and Edwards (along with bassist Ri…
Sonanze
An influential member of the Italian avant-garde, Roberto Cacciapaglia has spent the last four decades blurring the lines between classical and electronic music, developing a sound that has never been restricted by genre. A classically trained pianist and composer from Milan, Cacciapaglia first came to prominence in the early seventies as keyboardist for the king of experimental Italian pop, Franco Battiato. After recording his own debut LP, 1975's Sonanze in Milan, Cacciapaglia traveled to …
Empty Words (Part III)
When John Cage took to the stage at Milan’s Teatro Lirico on 2 December 1977 to read from a portion of his not yet published book, Empty Words, little did he know that he was about to incite one of the great art riots of the twentieth century! As Cage reads aloud in what sounds like a nonsensical language (the result of using the I-Ching to extract a series of sounds and syllables from the Journal of Henry David Thoreau), the Italian audience (many of whom did not really know who Cage was …
Four Principles On Ireland And Other Pieces (1974)
Having worked closely with Karlheinz Stockhausen during the late 1950s, the Irish-born Cornelius Cardew became a major figure on the European avant-garde music scene over the following decade. However, by the early 1970s Cardew had become deeply involved in the international communist movement which created a growing rift between himself and his colleagues (particularly after his book Stockhausen Serves Imperialism was published in 1974). As Cardew’s politics changed, so did his mu…
Cheap imitation
Recorded at Mills College in Oakland, CA in March 1976, this LP represents one of the very few examples of John Cage performing his own work. Actually written in 1969, Cheap Imitation, composed for solo piano, is based on Erik Satie’s symphonic drama “Socrate”. An example of one of Cage’s indeterminate pieces, here Satie’s “Socrate” undergoes a series of variations based on the random extraction of hexagrams from the I-Ching. Inside pocket gatefold sleeve with liner notes.
Improvisation
The godfather of improvisational guitar, Derek Bailey’s praises have been sung far and wide by everyone from Pat Metheny to Karlheinz Stockhausen for having revolutionized the way the instrument was played over the last half of the twentieth century. Although fans are often frustrated by the low-fidelity of his earlier recordings, this 1975 LP (originally released on the Italian avant-garde label, Cramps), stands out in that regard. Recorded in an actual studio (unlike most of his early work) in…
