Bestiario vol.2
Here’s a new 7″ from the ‘Bestiario’ series by Italian percussionist Enrico Malatesta. Bestiario is a series of short compositions for solo acoustic percussion, recorded live with no overdubs or editing. Using extremely dense micro-structures, broken rhythms and fast tempi on a very reduced percussion set, those pieces are meant to explore a multi-directional sonic dimension, while keeping a high level of tension. 7″ record, black vinyl (cut at dubplates & mastering, berlin), printed labels …
Seashard
Originally created as a saleable nicknack for an Angst Hase Pfeffer Nase tour of solo guitar shredding but since the destination was Miami, Florida, home of booty bass and sick beats, something which facilitated rump-shaking and toe-tapping seemed more applicable. Two side-long pieces which combine all of the best things known to man: feedback loops, hyperstatic drum machines, digital rot, and frightfully decrepit fairground machinery. Chris Cooper is the most reliable member of AHPN, as well as…
Geelriandre / Arthesis
Realised on the ARP Synthesizer in 1972. Piano: Gérard Fremy. Recorded at the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, December 1979. Arthesis was realized on the Moog Synthesizer at the University of Iowa in 1973. Originally released on Fringes Recordings in 2003, the cd sold out immediately. Finally available again on Senufo Editions. Eliane Radigue's steady-state, pulse and drone oriented works for synthesizer had cast a wider and wider influence over younger improvisers over the years, especially those …

Algae
Restocked: Kassel Jaeger lives and works in Paris. He’s a member of the GRM (Groupe de Recherches Musicales). ‘algae’ is the follow-up of ‘aerae’ (senufo edition # five) and continues the author’s research on possible intersections of instrumental improvisations and field recordings. Focused at the same time on microphone placement and elaboration of metastable sound states, ‘algae’ develops series of interlacing soundwaves which evolve like tidal movements and leave, here and there, inanimate o…
Zweifarbige Gesten
Beautiful debut full-length album for Jennifer Veillerobe, a french-german musician, co-curator of senufo editions and one half of ‘eselsohr ’. The CD is centered around a minimal sequence of sonic events, alternating between modular synthesizer patterns / textures and simple acoustic gestures captured with a portable digital recorder. realised without any processing or overdubbing; the cd is an attempt to define a narrative using nothing but sharp edits and careful sequencing of non-homogeneous…
Handcut
bellows is the duo of giuseppe ielasi and nicola ratti and ‘handcut’ is their second project. originally released on lp on alga marghen / planam, this cd reissue is expanded with 23 minutes of unreleased material recorded one year after the first sessions. for ‘handcut’, bellows used a simple technique of cutting / destroying and amplifying vinyl records with contact microphones, creating new grooves and physical loops while capturing the sounds on a revox tape machine with long tap…
Associazioni Poro
Alessandro Brivio’s new record is another collection of complex and obsessive rhythmic tracks, reflecting his studies and passion for african aesthetics. The title is an homage to the Senufo secret society (the Poro) and to the Associazione Poro, a foundation of africanists founded by the great italian collector Carlo Monzino.Numbered edition of 200 copies. Transparent vinyl (cut at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin) with printed labels. Silkscreened cover (black on black carboard), with small inser…

Alpi
oreledigneur is the duo of giuseppe ielasi and renato rinaldi and “alpi” is the new film by photographer and filmmaker Armin Linke. rinaldi followed linke’s shooting sessions between 2004 and 2009, recording on-location sound for the film, which was then edited and sound-designed by oreledigneur. the whole sound archive was used by ielasi to edit and compose (without any additional processing) those two sides, which bear very little resemblance to the final soundtrack of the film. the lp consist…

voluntary milking system
Unprocessed recordings made at the farm “Le Petit Bouveuche” in Saint Leger sur Sarthe (Normandy region, France). The farm’s main building is a large stable, where approximately a hundred cows live. The stable is open on one side, and the cows are free to wander around, even to leave the stable itself towards the open fields. At the other end, two large milking robots are installed. The cows voluntarily enter the robot area twice a day to be milked, while a central computer scans and recogn…
Battery Townsley
restocked: Mindblowing edition! One side of the Lp contains the recording of a performance realised with 10 cassette players positioned inside the bunker of Battery Townsley (World War II coastal fortification). The studio source material, recorded by The Norman Conquest, was also mixed in studio by Giuseppe Ielasi, and this version appears on the other side. Numbered edition of 280 copies. Transparent vinyl (cut at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin), printed cover designed by Jefre Cantu-Ledes…
Irregularity/Homogeneity: Emerging from the Perturbation Field
one-sided lp of recordings from the installation of the same name (from a series of works, started in 1991, using fluorescent lamps). Description: an irregular state, when it surrounds us, makes us unable to identify individual things, or to find any law of variations within it. We usually regard it as having no significant nature more than the specific nature from which emerges repetition. It seems homogeneous rather than heterogeneous because we feel it as a form of flatness without spec…
pause peuls
slowed down ‘donndolooru’ recordings from niger, from “the peuls” lp (emi musical atlas, 1976), re-played through a cdj in pause mode. the fluctuating clicking pulses and polyrhythms on this cassette are the result of the artifacts produced by the pause button combined with random playing and panning speeds. realised by eselsohr, giuseppe ielasi and jennifer veillerobe, autumn 2010. thanks to alessandro brivio.
Percussion Ensemble
Jarrod Fowler is a percussionist from Massachusetts, USA. ‘Percussion Ensemble’ is a non-musical rhythmsystemic aggregate ready-made from percussive dialectical composites of “experimental percussion music”. Jarrod Fowler's projects are systemic investigations of musical thought and practice. These  experiments question instabilities shared by both music and non-music. Letterpressed sleeve printed by Ben Owen / Middle Press. Numbered edition of 180 copies.
Aerae
**last copies** Kassel Jaeger lives and works in Paris. He’s a member of the GRM (Groupe de Recherches Musicales) and his album is a weave of improvisations executed on various instruments (koto, rebab, positive organ, Coupigny modular synthesizer), captured and then treated as if they were field recordings. It’s about reducing the instrumental gesture to simple expressive material, shaping it while loosing control over it, letting it grow until there is no more readability in terms of ways of p…

6pezzi2009+lagodelnulla
Aggressive loop music based on sounds from photographic equipment and african field recordings. Besides being an early-Reich cheap imitation, ‘lagodelnulla’ is an italian expression (roughly translated as ‘lakeofnothingness’) found in an old Banda-Ngao lullaby (Central Africa, early ’60s). An ‘objet trouvé’ elevated as social commentary by the author. Volume encouraged. 35 minutes, transparent vinyl. Edition of 100 copies in recycled chipboard sleeve with silkscreened sheet (printed by Ped…
