Hiking The Trails Of Mount Muzak
No time to waste: nine months after Tim Vanhamel released 'Dubs Pour Oh La La', his debut album under the moniker Comité Hypnotisé, the Millionaire frontman presents already the second album 'Hiking The Trails Of Mount Muzak'. Hardly leaving any traces of the dubbed out vibe which marked the first record, Tim expands his Comité Hypnotisé universe to a surprising next level on this second album: exploring a place where James Last, Wu-Tang Clan and Dj Shadow are cooking up a Thai meal in a Peruvia…
Stonewalling
“Stonewalling” offers a collection of electroacoustic pieces taking as input the Mexican vernacular music from the golden age of Mexican cinema of the first part of the 20th century. In those films, music was used as communication due their poor verbal communication-skills. This is an album about communication, about the impossibility to do so to resolve conflicts. In the technical side, some of the sources used as layering in the tracks come from radio frequencies taken from explorations into t…
Barene
"August 2019; Piacenza. The warm padano, sticky, inexorable, which marks the hours from dawn to evening and the flu in the night. Almost by mistake, in the automatic gestures of false computerized researches, after having registered the mail, read messages and fulfilled the electronic deontology, I come across Barene. I knew nothing about them. I look at photos, videos and read articles. Suddenly present. They attract me. I imagine. And immediately I put in memories, paradoxically distant in tim…
Twilight - The Opening
Geruch Von Blut is the project that was born here and now. Geruch Von Blut calls to mind a scent referring to iron and metal. For predatory carnivores it is irresistible, triggering their instinct; without knowing what you want, not listening to what you think you are listening to, always, that's what not to lose sight of, in the ardor of the drafting the sounds trigger in a continuous.“When Geruch submitted his musical world to me, I thought of an immense ocean similar to an impassable wall. Th…
Droneworks I-V
"Droneworks I-V" is a collection of five long beatless soundscapes, composed with the purpose of inducing hypnotic and meditative states. Healing music, aiming to calm the mind from the background noise of our chaotic reality. Orghanon is the solo venture of Sergio Calzoni, producer and musician active since the '90s in various musical outfits (Alma Mater, Act Noir, Colloquio, Iluiteq). With Orghanon Sergio Calzoni blends melancholy with silence, depicting stark yet deeply emotional soundtracks …
Germinal
*110 copies limited edition* The debut LP by Outliers, "Germinal," offers a kaleidoscopic blend of lo-fi sensibility and hi-fi substance. The duo delivers on its namesake by deviating from musical norms. Using atypical rhythms, atonal sounds, and shifting forms, their music creates an inviting familiarity. Outliers' music can call a number of genres home: electronic, ambient, psychedelia, minimalism. No matter what you label it, "Germinal" will soothe your psyche with its shimmering inner light …
Astragaloi
This trio didn’t know how lucky they had it. They were certainly happy to perform again when this concert was recorded at the ArtActs Festival in St Johan Austria in early March 2020. Although their first outing was back in 2013 in Harnik’s hometown of Graz - a live concert broadcast through the Austrian National Radio/ORF, the band has had a sporadic performance history. So the opportunity to reunite for this festival performance was already special. Little did they know what lay ahead though, …
The Plains At Gordium
The Plains at Gordium was composed from June to August 2004 and is dedicated to Charlotta Kotik. The incentive to compose the piece came from a percussion group in Brno, Czech Republic, who asked me for a piece of music. Not being a commission-disciplined composer, I wrote a piece for six percussionists, while the Czech group, DAMA-DAMA had only four members and could not perform it. The size of the piece also defies the scale of a standard percussion piece, 1,290 measures over a 108-page score.…
Invasion/ Murder One
One of Alan Vega’s greatest talents was his ability to bring the past and the future together into a suspended place of timelessness. His groundbreaking duo Suicide was often seen as future primitivism and most of his musical output has exemplified this blending of the primordial human condition and visionary thinking. With Invasion b/w Murder One, the next release from the now infamous Vega Vault following 2021’s Mutator, we see this innate power in full effect. The two tracks “Invasion” and “M…
L’Ultimo Treno della Notte
"L'Ultimo Treno della Notte" (Last Stop on the Night Train) is a 1975 thriller film directed by Aldo Lado, one of the most violent movies ever produced in Italy in the '70s (and beyond) that actually shows, even in the crudest scenes, for same admission of the director, a harsh attack against the bourgeois society and its powerful rich people. Despite the limited budget, the friendship between Aldo Lado and composer Ennio Morricone made this collaboration possible; nonetheless, only a 45rpm 7" w…

Cherry Five

The album was recorded in 1974 but published only in 1976, a year before the official birth of Goblin and the worldwide success of "Profondo Rosso". Work
Chicago Research presents the latest release on tape by History of Leather.
CCTK Music
CCTK Music combines Gabriella Isaac's exploitative use of laptop as feedback loop / sound source / physical device and James Fella's electro-acoustic / tape as instrument approach. The duo incorporates each other's material in real time (on Side A), cutting the content onto 6 singles-sided reference lacquers. The lacquers were used to assemble a collage in a performance setting in late 2019, and again in a studio setting for Side B. The result is a record that is both scathing but at times harmo…
Moving My Body Through Space
Recognized as a skilled and sought after collaborator, Ted Byrnes solo albums cast a wide net that capture Byrnes' adventurous and omnivorous approach to solo percussion. An alumnus of Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, Byrnes has made his home in the center of a Venn diagram that includes free improvisation, studied electro-acoustic work, fearless new music and harsh noise. Recognizing the porous borders between these modes, Byrnes' work on Moving My Body Through Space is a flailing medita…
As Slow as the Stream
*75 copies limited edition* "After several stand out collaborative releases, including a duo LP with Mark Shippy and another duo LP with Claire Rousay, violinist Alex Cunningham returns to solo form with As Slow as the Stream, an album made up of one 33-minute cat and mouse game titled "As Slow as the Stream Cuts the Dirt from Beneath." If you've ever watched a cat sneak up on a mouse, you've seen the cat making its way towards it's prey so slowly that you barely even notice the cat is moving at…
Breslin
“A set of spry, pastoral Aecoustic Guitar and errant Electronic pieces that harken back to libraries by Teisco, Vittorio Marino, and the like, yet mapped in an alien manner unlike any known lanes. Unusual, and uniformly excellent.” - Keith Fullerton Whitman
The Gleam
*In process of stocking* Like its predecessor, Philos, The Gleam is a completely solo work, all the music composed and played by Park Jiha on the piri, a type of oboe, the saenghwang, a mouth organ (shown on the album cover art), the hammered dulcimer known as the yanggeum, and glockenspiel. There’s a stark clarity to the sound, yet it’s never spare or empty. There’s a searching warmth to what she does. It’s minimal without being minimalist, occasionally presenting itself with the formality of t…
