Limited to just 500 copies and already sold out at source, this latest edition from the Tapeworm cassette label is likely to be the most feverishly sought after to date. One of experimental electronic music's biggest names, Christian Fennesz has collected his library of samples (dating between 1989 and 1996) made for his old Ensoniq EPS-16 Plus and ASR-10 samplers. It probably goes without saying, but this is an amazing hour or so of music to trawl through. Any long-term fans of Fennesz's music …
I've first heard TELEFONO BALAFONO a few years ago on a (now)preistoric myspace website and i almost fell from my chair. A raw and plastic collection of music compositions recorded on a "broken 4 track cassette recorder" as stated by the artist that mixes unknown keyboards and drum machines with a no wave twist that for the time of the recordings was already predicting the economical-ethical crisis we're living in the now. Each fragment doesn't exceed the 3 minutes of lenght creating short a…
Real deep drone music from Jon Wesseltoft (a.k.a Tongues of Mount Meru ) long form pieces for guitar with a sense of ancient space beauty and phantom overtones.
A simple synthetic-based, sine wave-generating freeware program was used as a sound source for creating single pulses and long static tones in several different tonal pitches. No additional sound design or other analog or digital processing was used during the creation of the sounds. The single sound elements were layered and sequenced into different movements of varying shapes and colors, focusing on the pure essence and aesthetics of sound. Each track interweaves longer, stretched, tonal…
Embody Problematic Behavior. These are the three words that Co La uses to describe “Soft Power Memento,” his follow-up EP to 2011′s “Daydream Repeater” debut LP on NNA. Something to mull over while immersing yourself in Co La’s vivid and constantly-evolving world of sound. The spectrum of source material is widened and focused, with an emphasis on acoustic instrumentation and jazz palettes, all diced up and run through the New Anything sound system. Concréte percussive molecules are tenderly arr…
We had been talking about this tape for a couple years now: a buncha killer livejams by the great Swedish band Den Stora Vilan (which supposedly translates something as ‘The Great Rest’). Long mellow West Coast influenced psych jams (think ‘American Beauty’ era Gratefuld Dead) meets Neil Young with a bit of Trad Gras Och Stenar thrown in. 200
T TRANCE's latest acid circus. This sparkling C30 slipslides through all his manic dual-keys modes (one hand mans the organ, the other dances up & down a wah-fucked Casio), accented w/ the occasional mushroom starchild sing-songing vocals. Ltd to 120
A powerful exemplar of long time electro-acoustic artist, Christian Renou. Glossy Black Fruits was composed in two parts and features contributions from G. Guiggia & Mamma Baer + KHJ.
Brand new full length cassette from Clay Ruby's amazing Burial Hex project. Cascades of blackened electronics, distant and buried wailing electronics drenched in throbbing rhythms and grumbling thunderous reverberations, swelling across the two 20 minute compositions, steadily building to utter decay. Limited to 100, pro-dubbed with black and white covers printed on parchment paper
'In the world of Brussels hip hop L.E.G. are outsiders, noted for their experimental music influences and use of distorted English-language vocals. Producers Sublyme Diagonal and Roger3000 continuously and independently recycle their collective work in which Citizen Ledge finds his inspiration, recounting his doubts about the future of the world and personal existential abyss. The six unedited tracks on this cassette were recorded between 2005 and 2010.' label info

"Sound non sound" is a 15 minutes long session of samples, toy beats and synthetic waves that travels back in time to investigate some of the unexplainable mysteries of the recent Italian past, made of disappearing aeroplanes and exploding train stations by the hand of no one.A deeply describing music that manages to stimulate undefined images and shapes to the mind of the listener.
Giannis Kotsonis has been performing under the ‘Sister Overdrive’ alias, keeping himself active with soundwork for theatre, dance, installation and cinema alongside his purely musical work. Initially working through his laptop, his practice has broadened considerably in recent years to include a greater range of external sources and a more detailed exploration of the electroacoustic possibilities inherent in his tools. ‘Honey’ comes at the tail-end of a couple of very productive years, ex…

Jean Baudrillard's "Le Xerox et l'Infini" – originally published in Paris, 1987 – as read by Patricia and Ellen. Recorded on 12 July 2009 by Vicki Bennett in Hersham, England. Translation: Agitac, London, November 1988. Jean Baudrillard is perhaps the most important theorist of the 'after modern'. Though he says himself he has 'nothing to do with postmodernism', many interpret him (along with Jean-François Lyotard) as among the most important prophets of a truly postmodern era. His works have at…
'Fart Synthesis' is the 8th episode in EVOL's ongoing Punani series, and was edited from live recordings in Osaka, Kiev and Toulouse between 2008 and 2009. All sounds were synthesized on the fly on various computers. The final tracks were assembled in Barcelona in the spring of 2009 using generative algorithms to splice and rearrange a large amount of sound files. The title of this cassette comes from a series of chats and discussions on digital synthesis techniques by Rubén Patiño (aka Pato) and…
here are two pieces from august 2008 ; built from “playthroughs” -style guitar / synthesizer / computer improvisations recorded april 2008 ; (time crawls when you live in a bubble) ...the “side 1” half is the tail-end of said improv, run through a low-pass filter taking its cut-off frequency from the relative “loudness” of the audio (i.e. the louder it gets, the more high-end it let through) - a nice & simple piece that turned out well (there’s even a bit of “dry” guitar playing at the end there…
The debut release from Polish composer Adrian Aniol, It All Falls Apart, is a slow, fog-enshrouded journey upriver into the mouth of madness. Slow, frigid waves of sound seep in from the misty distance. White noise clashes with subsonic percussive crashes piling on the unease and tension that builds to an appropriately lunatic conclusion. The B-side features a remix of the entire piece by Steven Hess (Locrian, Ural Umbo). No computers were used on the remix. The piece was literally done …
