The thallus refers to a plant without roots or leaves: lichens, algae. A presence in the world that unfolds discreetly, like a tree covering or a blanket over the sea. t h a l l e is, for me, a subject of randomness and correlation. How do desynchronized elements form a harmonic whole? I can feel great joy in organizing the chaos of these materials, which, through tiny encounters, align in the same time. t h a l l e is also an exploration of vast temporalities, from the smooth time of organ pieces of Avril to the striated tempo of Canine. I often feel the urge to slow down my physiological rhythm to hear sound from and within other space-times. t h a l l e is a collection of small autonomous entities, where the song is a tree and the organ a stone.

Following a first solo album, Gibbon, released on the Carton Records label in December 2022, and more than 40 concerts (Festival Météo, L'Atelier du Plateau, Jazz à La Villette, Baignade Sauvage, Le Petit Faucheux, Bruisme, Pannonica, Jazzèbre, Instants Chavirés...), Tatiana Paris unfolds a new chapter where prepared guitar, voice, and a touch of modular synthesis interact with the organ. We drift between noise-infused songwriting and spectral minimalism, like a fictional meeting between Fred Frith, Ellen Arkbro, and Jules Reidy.
