The Rising Storm

“despite the odds being against it, the record is a solid work”

Nik hears a band that has traded much of its psychedelia for progressive hard rock, and calls the album solid but uneven, a grab bag of heavy rockers and sentimental ballads. He praises All The Days, the ten-minute acoustic prog of Look At My Window and Joe Yamanaka's singing on Shadows Of Lost Days. He is hard on the drum solo that fills half of the 23-minute Hiroshima and on Blue Suede Shoes. He says it is not the place to start, but worth having for those who already love Satori.
