The Kaplan Texts is based on a book Renato produced for the project Acherotipismo by Al Mare (Teatrum Botanicum 2018, PAV, Torino), inspired by the character George Kaplan from Alfred Hitchcock’s film North By Northwest. Hatami’s piece could be seen as a form of meditation on this event and all tragedy and sorrow involved. The front cover is a painting by Hawar Amini which is a version of the mentioned photo.
