Adam Bohman has operated on the outer fringes of underground music for decades, working with home-built instruments, found objects, tape cut-ups, collage, ink drawings and graphic scores. Favouring acoustic sounds over electronics, he coaxes the minute tendrils of sound out of any number of non-musical objects, bowed, scraped and amplified on a table, and his music brings together Fluxus japery, musique concrète, sound poetry and free improvisation. Based in London, he has played for years with his brother Jonathan as the Bohman Brothers, in Morphogenesis and in Secluded Bronte with Richard Thomas, and his records on Paradigm Discs and other small labels preserve a spoken, slightly deranged English humour alongside the sounds.
