Adele Sebastian

Adele Sebastian (1956-1983) was an American flutist and vocalist, born in Riverside, California into a musical family. She studied Theatre Arts and Pan-Afrikan Studies at Cal State LA, becoming a key member of Horace Tapscott's Pan-Afrikan Peoples Arkestra and the UGMAA collective. Her sole album as leader, Desert Fairy Princess (Nimbus West, 1981), is a cornerstone of West Coast spiritual jazz. She died of kidney failure at 27
