Aethenor
Aethenor (written Æthenor) is an experimental group that began in 2003, when Stephen O'Malley and Vincent de Roguin made improvised recordings in hotel rooms while touring with Sunn O))). Daniel O'Sullivan then helped turn the material into albums in Geneva. The group works with drones, electronics and improvisation, and later became a live band with drummer Steve Noble. The first album, Deep in Ocean Sunk the Lamp of Light, came out on VHF Records in 2006. Betimes Black Cloudmasses (2008) was recorded in an all-night Geneva session with Kristoffer Rygg of Ulver, who then joined the group.
