Andy Clark (vocals, keyboards, percussion, flute, saxophone, rhythm guitar) and Mick Hutchinson (lead guitar, percussion, piano, bass) initial worked jointly in Vamp, a short-lived UK-based quartet founded by ex-Pretty Stuff drummer Viv Prince in the past due 60s.
