Fovea Hex

Fovea Hex is the recording project of the Irish singer and composer Clodagh Simonds, started in 2005. Simonds had founded the folk group Mellow Candle while still at school. Under the Fovea Hex name she makes slow, layered songs built from voices, piano, strings and electronics with a changing group of collaborators. The first releases were the three EPs of Neither Speak Nor Remain Silent (Bloom, Huge and Allure, 2005-2007) on Janet Records and Die Stadt, each with a bonus disc of reworkings by The Hafler Trio. Brian Eno, Roger Eno, Robert Fripp, Steven Wilson and Carter Burwell took part.
