Iva Bittová is a Czech violinist and singer, born in 1958 in Bruntál. She trained in drama at the Brno Conservatory and spent about ten years as an actress, appearing in Czech feature films, before turning back to music in the early 1980s with violin studies at the Janáček Academy in Brno. Her duo with percussionist Pavel Fajt made her name outside Czechoslovakia in the late 1980s. Bittová recorded Bittová + Fajt in 1985 with Fajt, then the percussionist of the rock group Dunaj, and their second album, Svatba, drew attention abroad.
