Jake Muir

Jake Muir is a sound artist, DJ and field recordist who grew up in Los Angeles and is based in Berlin. He makes slow, immersive pieces from loops of old library records, film sound effects, jazz samples and field recordings. He is known for Bathhouse Blues, a series of mixes that set samples of vintage gay erotica against ambient and illbient textures, which became an album on Sferic in 2023. As Monadh, Muir released Muara (Further Records, 2016), which used library loops and field recordings from the Pacific Northwest.
