Nick Dunston
Nick Dunston is an American bassist, composer and improviser who emerged on the New York avant-garde jazz scene and is now based in Berlin. He writes both acoustic and electroacoustic music, and is known for ambitious ensemble works under his own name, most notably Colla Voce, which he describes as an Afro-surrealist anti-opera. Dunston studied with bassists Linda May Han Oh, Ben Street and Harish Raghavan and with composer Missy Mazzoli. He has played or recorded with Tyshawn Sorey, Vijay Iyer, Marc Ribot, Ches Smith, Ingrid Laubrock, Amirtha Kidambi, Moor Mother and Dave Douglas.
