Polypores

Polypores is the electronic project of Stephen James Buckley, a musician based in Preston, England. Working mainly with a modular synthesizer, he makes ambient and experimental electronic music built on layered soundscapes, which in its early years drew on library music, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and old public information films. He has recorded a run of albums for the Castles in Space label. Buckley's early releases, from the mid-2010s, included the album The Investigation, the Edgewoods EP and the LP A Shunned Place, which used slowed tape recordings of birdsong.
