Siloah

Country: Germany

Siloah was a German band from Munich that grew out of a commune whose members lived together on a farm. Its music moved between krautrock, psychedelia and acoustic folk. The group is remembered for two albums, a self-titled debut from 1970 and Sukram Gurk from 1972. Siloah (1970) rests on acoustic guitar picking and Spanish-flavoured rhythms, with a first side close to prog-folk. On Sukram Gurk (1972) the band turned to the organ, opening with the roughly 16-minute "Milk Blue Mind", a repeated chant that opens into free improvisation.
