Solmania

Country: Japan

Solmania is a Japanese noise project founded in Osaka in 1984 by Masahiko Ohno. The music is made almost entirely with electric guitars that Ohno builds himself from spare parts, mostly multi-neck and harp guitars fitted with extra strings, pickups and microphones, and the project is known for its harsh noise records, several of them released on Alchemy Records. The early cassette years produced a run of releases in 1985 alone, among them H·A·D·A·Y·R·O and Vexation, followed by Highdrophobia (1986) and Erosion (1987).
