Stelvio Cipriani

Stelvio Cipriani (Rome, 1937-2018) wrote more than two hundred film scores. His first music lessons came from his parish priest; he studied at the Santa Cecilia conservatory and worked as an accompanist for pop singers, Rita Pavone among them, before turning to cinema. His first feature was the western The Bounty Killer in 1966. Anonimo veneziano (1970, directed by Enrico Maria Salerno) made his name and won him the Nastro d'Argento, and its theme became popular well beyond the film.
