Sven Wunder

Country: Sweden

Sven Wunder is the recording name of Joel Danell, a Stockholm-based composer and producer who also writes music for film and television. His albums are instrumental records rooted in jazz and in soundtrack and library music, each framed around a theme, beginning with his 2019 debut Eastern Flowers (also titled Doğu Çiçekleri), which drew on Anatolian music. He issues his work on his own label, Piano Piano. Danell is the son of a jazz drummer and learned bass as a young musician. He rarely performs on his own records, relying on a core group of musicians he has known since high school.
