Terumasa Hino

Country: Japan

Terumasa Hino (born 1942 in Tokyo) is a Japanese jazz trumpeter who also plays cornet and flugelhorn. The son of a trumpeter and tap dancer, he took up trumpet at nine and turned professional in the 1950s. He made his name in Japan in the late 1960s with Hideo Shiraki and his own groups, and later settled in New York, where he worked with American players. Hino played in Hideo Shiraki's quintet from 1965 to 1969 while also leading his own group.
