The Whistlebinkies
The Whistlebinkies are a Scottish folk group from Glasgow, which grew out of a loose circle of folk musicians playing in north Lanarkshire pubs and at the Scotia Bar. Their first album dates from 1971. The line-up is acoustic, built on pipes (including the revived bellows-blown Lowland pipes), fiddle, flute, harp, concertina and bodhran. In November 1991 they made the first tour of China by a Scottish folk ensemble. They performed John Cage's Scottish Circus (1990), which is the Mode DVD title.
