Alto e Primitivo
Superb tripped out psych-garage-fuzzy funk by the Tallinn group Penza Penza (aka Misha Panfilov and friends).
Three Cellos
The inaugural release in Greyfade’s innovative new FOLIO music release format, composer Kenneth Kirschner’s Three Cellos is the culmination of a five-year collaboration between Kirschner, arranger & producer Joseph Branciforte, and cellist Christopher Gross.
13
For its inaugural release of 2025, Past Inside The Present proudly offers a powerful set of new pieces from experimental ambient veteran bvdub (aka Brock Van Wey), simply titled 13. Across its duration, spacious arrangements nest in clouds of reverb, underscored by granular details and entrancing synth arpeggiations. According to Van Wey – a long time scholar of Eastern ideas and literature – every section represents one edict or idea from chapter 13 of the Tao Te Ching, the foundational text of…
The Best Driving Music In The World Ever
2025 stock "This all came together due to a bout of loneliness and depression that swept over me that Friday evening. Being lonely sometimes can render positive results, something I am learning. On my walk home, I decided to go and make a guitar-based record and not leave the house until it was done. I succeeded and this is what was made. This is not a one-off experiment, that will disappear a few weeks from now: This is my fifth solo full-length record. It is "canon", to quote film nerds. I hop…
Koselig
2025 stock In celebration of Zakè Drone Recordings' fifth year of releases, we are proud to present Koselig—a curated collection of long-form compositions featuring contributions from close friends of Frizzell and esteemed artists. This release showcases the talents of From Overseas, Benoît Pioulard, Wayne Robert Thomas, Marc Ertel, Viul, and zakè himself. Zach Frizzell (zakè) conceived Koselig while working with Kévin Séry (From Overseas) on their 2023 opus, Demain, dès l’aube, issued by Past I…
Pathways
2025 stock 'Pathways' is a collection of four stunning loops created by the artist during an introspective period of his life. These majestic, consonant arrangements breathe slowly as fleetingly beautiful melodies; a gorgeous account of ebb and flow repetition. Pathways is cautiously sanguine and equally melancholic of which many today can personally and intimately relate to. A universal desperation and yearning for hope in a dispirited civilization. - Pallette
Module
2025 stock "Esteemed ambient auteurs, zakè and ossa's collaborative output continues to soothe and delight in equal measure. After Syntheticopia in August 2022 and the dark long-player 'A Pale Shelter' in 2021 between zakè, ossa, and City of Dawn comes Module, a collaboration that includes seasoned electronic producer Ruben A. Tamayo, under the alias FAX. The power trio brings forth an eight-track excursion into heavy ambient atmospheres with moody soundscapes and a real weight of melancholy. As…
Keep The Orange Sun (Reworks)
2025 stock Los Angeles based ambient husband and wife duo, awakened souls join with Réunion Island native, From Overseas to create Keep The Orange Sun. After hearing each other’s individual music, a deeper conversation started about shared musical influences and inspiration leading to the creation of this album. Keep The Orange Sun guides the listener on a thoughtfully curated path. Starting with the certainty of life’s changes (Certainty of Tides) to arising self-doubt (Release/Adapt) and celeb…
Flint
In the years since the founding of Past Inside the Present, label head zakè (aka Zach Frizzell) has collaborated with an extensive roster of heavy-hitting ambient experimentalists, chief among which are From Overseas (aka Kévin Séry) and the legendary James Bernard. On Flint, these three artists make clear their well-developed bond, as they build vivid, organic worlds from an intuitive understanding of each other’s strengths, processes, and tonalities. Opening track, “Conifer”, emerges with a de…
Certain Path
As the coda to a busy and dynamic year, Zakè Drone Recordings is pleased to bring you Certain Path, a collection of piano-centric pieces by friends and frequent collaborators zakè (Zach Frizzell), From Overseas (Kévin Sery), and City of Dawn (Damien Duque). It is an album intended for quiet spaces, deep breaths, and hibernation stillness; across its seven movements, softened and gently treated keys provide compelling motifs, while undercurrents of shifting drone provide a meditative, melancholic…
Echo Singers
An official collection of otherworldly and beautiful folk songs performed in 1980 in Canada by pupils (singers) and their teachers (instruments). Three songs are taken from a scarce privately pressed 'mysterious' Lp released under a different moniker. Two songs are unreleased songs from that session in 1980. For fans of The Langley Schools Music Project (Echo Singers steal the cake!!!) and even fans of performers like Belle and Sebastian should take note! Comes with liner notes by people involve…
Contempo
Among one of the most sought after english dub albums, Black Jade Contempo is still somewhat of a mystery. Definitely ahead of its time, their deeper dub style was very sophisticated indeed. The material was originally recorded between 1975-76 and then collected in their self-produced debut. The vinyl first appearance was at the Notting Hill Carnival in the summer of 1976, where the band – apparently – was freely distributing it on the streets !
S.F.A.G. 31.11.1981
Maurizio Bianchi began experimenting with industrial / noise music shortly after the genre emerged. Initially, he released four recordings under the moniker Sacher-Pelz, then began using his own name or his initials, M.B., in 1980. From 1979 to 1984, Bianchi released around 35 albums, showcasing a period of intense creativity before he took a break from music until 1998. Since resuming his work, he has released over 250 additional albums. What is remarkable about Bianchi’s career - aside from hi…
Into the Void
*33 copies limited edition* Archaic is the electronic music project of Jelle Groen and Pieter Hooghiem from the Netherlands. Their paths serendipitously intersected at a vibrant local cultural concert hall, where classical music, eclectic melodies and live performances ignited their shared passion for music, technology, and diverse musical interests. Their shared workplace with Willem Twee Studios (Netherlands), made them interested into the world of modular synthesis and the collaborative effor…
limen memoriae
*200 copies limited edition* [limen memoriae] is a sonic journey through the depths of memory and liminal abandonment. Drawing inspiration from the transient and fallible nature of memory, the music presented in this album tells stories of vast spaces and impossible, almost alien architectures, embracing the disoriented acceptance of memory's impermanence in contrast to eternity. The accompanying imagery depicts a world, a future yet unknown but long forgotten; an uninhabited landscape of struct…
Mole
2010 release **  "The Low Frequency Orchestra is a small ensemble of 'paetzold' recorders, electronic devices, voice, double bass and drums and they team up here with one Wolfgang Mitterer who plays organ. The starting point of this CD is a live recording which has been 'repeatedly revised, de- and re-composed'. Taking into account this and the fact that this is a small ensemble, I was reminded of Mnemonists and Biota, who used similar group playing and extensive studio techniques to define thei…
Wait For It…
Nuke Watch stretch out and zone in on “Wait For It…”, two side-long jaunts that run their freeform M.O. to their own illogical ends. Following on from recent excursions on The Trilogy Tapes and Impatience, they revel in the long format for Patience, crafting a steady assault of haywire rhythms and swampy, off-world ambience. On the A-side’s Supersonic Percussion Anagram, a battery of electronic and sampled drums - from window-shaking subs to melodic sub-continent percussion - shift from one bar …
Artificial Dance
2015 release ** "The story of electronic music pioneer Kerry Leimer continues with a focus on his auteurist studio project Savant. Compiling the standalone album, 1983’s The Neo Realist (At Risk), with Savant’s debut 12″ and a grip of compilation and unreleased tracks, Artificial Dance documents Leimer’s complete collaborative venture into the unpredictable realities of music, exploring the gulf between what is expected by its creators and what is eventually – and eternally – committed to tape. …
Chaleur Humaine
2021 release ** "Uman’s Chaleur Humaine, the debut album from the French duo of musicians and siblings Danielle and Didier Jean, resurfaces for the first time since its original release in 1992. While history, both private and public, is scattered with creative relationships between siblings that simply “did not work,” UMAN’s story is uniquely different and defined by this bond, and a shared journey impressing footprints along an adventurous musical terrain. Prior to Chaleur Humaine, Danielle an…
Few Traces
2018 release ** "Few Traces surveys a near decade of Mark Renners scarcely released and unreleased material from 1982 to 1990, embracing and evoking the timelessness of his artistic statement: a wordless translation of the individuals musical experience, met with the poetic expression of being here. Mark Renner first encountered punk while a teenager in Upperco, a country town in rural Maryland. Growing up on his family farm, he became a young acolyte of the British exports hitting not-so-distan…
