Explorations + Further Explorations Bundle
Bundled together, Gentle Fire’s Explorations (1970–1973) 3‑CD box and Further Explorations CD form the most complete portrait yet of this seminal British experimental ensemble. Studio and festival recordings of Cage, Stockhausen, Wolff, Brown and Ichiyanagi sit alongside radical “Group Compositions” and newly unearthed German radio sessions, revealing a maverick collective equally at home interpreting graphic scores, building their own instruments and inventing new forms of electroacoustic group…
Further Explorations
Huge Tip! Further Explorations follows on from Gentle Fire’s 3CD retrospective box set Explorations, released in 2020. These new archive recordings came to light in the process of unearthing the tapes for the 4CD box set by their fellow Stockhausen collaborators Intermodulation. The pieces used on this CD are taken from two sessions recorded for German radio in 1973 and 74, one for Sender Freies Berlin and the other for Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt. These beautifully recorded and preserved p…
Psychick Youth
I’ve not thought about Psychick Youth for a long time, the anti cult cult, but the reality is I had a great time and met a lot of good people, many of whom I’m still in touch with today. Left in the hands of others who just weren’t there, people jumped on the gravy train and ultimately failed to answer any questions. Failed books and failed documentaries followed, where the main priority seemed to be taking the money and hoping for the best, kinda sad really. The press described it as: “Thee Tem…
Stochastic Parrot
In the past some reviewers and critics of my series of Ambient / Electronic / Exotic releases mentioned Jon Hassell and even suggested that we should make an album together. That never happened of course and probably never would have. An influence of his music on my exotica music is in some ways true but initially to be honest it was the cover art by Mati Klarwein for Aka/ Darbari/ Java and Dream Theory in Malaya that I would sometimes turn to look at for inspiration. They reminded me of places t…
Disappear In Silent Ways
*200 copies limited edition* After the highly acclaimed albums 'Elegant, Golden' (2022) and ‘For the Summer, or Forever’ (2018), both released by Dronarivm, British producer Ryan Bissett, aka Halftribe, returns with his new work 'Disappear in Silent Ways'. Immersive, swirling so-longs and dreamy, murmured goodbyes…
For The Summer, Or Forever
*100 copies limited edition* Laconic haze, ethereal curiosities, nostalgic glimpses and fictional illusions. Northern Irish Halftribe’s (Ryan Bisset’s) third album arrives punctually to soundtrack the coming summer – or eternity, apparently, if you like. It is indeed suitably warm and familiar stuff, going straight for the bliss-out button with dreamy, droning pieces mixing airy synths and calm field recordings.
Fractures On The Horizon
Originally self-released by James Blackshaw on Bandcamp in February 2026, Fractures On The Horizon comprises two compositions totaling nearly 40 minutes of music. The title track — a sweeping 25-minute piece performed in an open tuning — finds Blackshaw at his most commanding, weaving hammered arpeggios and resonant melody into something at once technically staggering and deeply felt. “...the 25-minute title song might be his most boldly beautiful composition yet, a bravura performance for guita…
Live at the Hope and Anchor Recorded on November 22nd, 1977
This set consists of an entire show at the Hope and Anchor pub in Islington, North London, recorded on 22 November 1977. This particular concert took place on the opening night of the "Front Row Festival", a series of shows by regulars of the venue during 1977. Many of the songs in the band's set that night were played by request; for this show, they rehearsed their entire catalogue. It is regarded as one of the band's more memorable shows.
Snappy Turns
Debut solo album for Alternative Tv frontman and long-time running Uk punk scenester, originally released in 1980 on Deptford Fun City Records. Mark Perry was also the man behind the iconic Sniffin' Glue zine, founded in July 1976. The album was produced by Grant Showbiz, principally known for his work with The Fall, The Smiths and Billy Bragg, and it is literally an art-rock nugget. Sort of an autobiographical work, the record is full of twisted hooks, showing the dark side of post-punk. Less h…
Roots
*2026 repress!!!* What an unbelievable record. From the wild cover to the iconic breakbeats, Roots from Ian Carr’s Nucleus is one of the dopest albums we know. This is seriously thick, funky-prog jazz-rock heaven. Originally released on Vertigo in 1973, other than a couple of versions at the time for other territories, Roots was never re-pressed since so it’s gone on to become another one of those impossible to find records. Maybe it was a little too out there for the time, but it’s aged very, v…
A Sucked Orange
*100 copies limited edition* Very, very broadly speaking, there are two kinds of Nurse With Wound albums: the sprawling, immersive, evolving drone-type recordings - think Soliloquy for Lilith, Salt Marie Celeste - and the wild, surreal freak-outs. A Sucked Orange is a prime example of the latter. Originally released by United Dairies at the end of the 1980s, A Sucked Orange has long been out of print, especially on vinyl. Infinite Fog is beyond happy to bring this singular work back as a 2LP pic…
Jumpin' In (LP)
Original German edition on ECM of the 1984 album featuring Julian Priester and Kenny Wheeler.
Life Cycle (LP)
Original German edition of the 1983 album on ECM.
BBC Jazz Club Session April 1965
On BBC Jazz Club Session April 1965, Don Rendell and Ian Carr capture a historic broadcast moment where British modern jazz finds its new voice. The debut of pianist Michael Garrick within the quintet injects modal colour and compositional bite into a set that pushes club‑band swing toward something more questing and contemporary.
Barker Final
On Barker Final, Ivan The Tolerable closes the door on 1a Barker Road with a set of songs conceived, performed and mastered entirely by Oli Heffernan. The album feels like a final dispatch from a long‑running home studio, where restless experiments in tone and texture are distilled into a focused, late‑night farewell.
Exposure
*2026 stock* The acclaimed album Exposure by Robert Fripp returns in a newly curated box set edition, bringing together definitive recordings and special presentation designed to deepen every moment of the listening journey. Built for collectors and audiophiles, Exposure is more than a release: it’s an immersive document of craft, sound, and atmosphere—now experienced in a format worthy of its legacy. "Exposures" is a 32-disc box set that examines the period of Robert Fripp's career from 1977 to…
At Home
This one carries real weight. Issued by Another Timbre on the occasion of his 90th birthday, At Home - a 4-CD box set gathering five hours of domestic and archive recordings - marks the end of John Tilbury's recording career. There will be no more. What remains is this: a final, quietly monumental document from one of the most singular pianists of the last sixty years. Tilbury's place in the history of contemporary, improvised, and experimental music is beyond dispute. A member of AMM for decade…
Health and Efficiency
For some fans, Health And Efficiency is This Heat's peak achievement - their most concentrated blast of visceral intensity and wayward experimentalism. Featuring two long pieces, the EP came out in September 1980. It was released on Piano, the imprint founded by David Cunningham of Flying Lizards, and distributed by Rough Trade, home of the burgeoning post-punk movement and fellow travelers like The Raincoats, Scritti Politti, Cabaret Voltaire and The Red Crayola. Lead track Health And Efficienc…
Exotica, The Great Learning, Cybernetics III / Contrappunto Dialettico Alla Mente
Earlier this year, Deutsche Grammophon announced and delivered one of the most exciting initiatives in recent memory: a brand-new audiophile vinyl reissue series dedicated to crucial avant-garde and experimental works from its own extensive catalog. Beginning with Luc Ferrari's Presque Rien No.1 / Société II (1970), Mauricio Kagel's Acustica (1972), and Tōru Takemitsu's Quatrain / A Flock Descends Into The Pentagonal Garden (1980), these deluxe limited editions completely blew us away, returning…
If Take, Then Take: Tricks, Half-Tricks & Real Phenomena
*500 copies limited edition* After more than four years in the works, I am beyond elated to announce the release of ballastnvp067: The Hafler Trio: If Take, Then Take: Tricks, Half-Tricks & Real Phenomena (2 x CD, DVD, cards, and enamel pin in custom fabricated box). I originally released If Take, Then Take: Tricks, Half-Tricks & Real Phenomena in 2005 as a vinyl record, and it didn’t go off without a hitch or two. (In the end, I played almost every copy prior to sending it to a customer or dist…
