Mulago Sound Studio
Visions Congo is yet another moniker from Discrepant's head honcho, Gonçalo F Cardoso, taking Africa as a starting point to evoke the memories and re-imagined experiences of his six-month stay there in 2015. Most of the recordings and compositions were done in the great lakes of the African regions of Uganda, Congo (DRC), Tanzania, and the island of Zanzibar. Mulago Sound Studio is a series of surreal and augmented field recordings that try to brace the listener with fresh alien authentici…

Wound Burner
Wound_Burner is an audio project based on field recordings which took place in various locations in New York, USA, Gotland, Sweden, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and the Greek countryside. The project consists of three main parts, and moves along high frequency slow-motion sentimental delirios to heavy bass ambient soundscapes, periodically colored by the voice of the soprano Irini Kyriakidou. Some of the sounds were constructed by using exclusively digital and electronic media. Wound_Burner demo…
The Awakening Dream
A Dutch composer's private synthesizer odyssey, 1977. Andriessen conjures a 'trance symphony' on Minimoog and Rhodes: luminous, minimal and quietly euphoric, drawing on Berlin and Düsseldorf electronics rather than the concert hall.
Cathedrals
All songs written & produced by Bi Nostalgia. Recorded & Mixed at the Room, August 1986 excerpt.
Camo
Bartolomé Sanson and Félicia Atkinson’s amazing Shelter Press label keeps its boundaries fluid, porous with Camo; a bewildering and beguiling blend of field recordings and post-techno abstraction woven into uniquely polymetric, insectoid techno designs by Felicity Mangan and Stine Janvin Motland’s Native Instrument. Centred on Mangan and Gotland’s archive of fauna recordings made on location in Australia and North Europe, Camo works to a subtly ambiguous agenda, bending our perceptions between r…
Kevätjuhla
Finnish multimedia artist Jan Anderzén returns to Alter in characteristically singular style under his Tomutonttu guise. Kevätjuhla (translated as "Spring Celebration") is his second release for the label following a split 7" with Oneohtrix Point Never in 2010 (ALT02) and his first vinyl long player since 2011. Lately Jan has been busy within visual art, making mosaics, quilts and creating installation work for which the music of Kevätjuhla was initially composed. Inspired by the multitudes of…

This double CD release includes Set Of Four, a group of fixed-media sound collages using the processed hammer dulcimer as the primary sound source, two live performances of Dulcimer Flight for electroacoustic hammer dulcimer, and a 64-minute version of Periodicity Piece #6, a mixed-media work that originated as a multi-channel sound installation. With roots in early minimalism, a…
Invisible(s) Archipelago(s) #1 – Serendib rhythms
"The Unfathomless Series returns with another pair of fine releases, whose moods are polar opposites. Five Elements Music‘s lokrum patterns draws the listener in, while Stéphane Marin’s Invisible(s) Archipelago(s) n°1 – Serendib rhythms contains sounds that many would choose to avoid. Now to Sri Lanka, a land of many islands, whose sounds have been worked into a single composition by Stéphane Marin. The title may be unwieldy (Invisible(s) Archipelago(s) #1 – Serendib rhythms), but the idea is no…
Lokrum Patterns
"The Unfathomless Series returns with another pair of fine releases, whose moods are polar opposites. Five Elements Music‘s lokrum patterns draws the listener in, while Stéphane Marin’s Invisible(s) Archipelago(s) n°1 – Serendib rhythms contains sounds that many would choose to avoid. Croatia’s Lokrum Island is a beautiful paradise of coves, beaches and azure green waters. But there’s a down side as well: it’s awfully close to shore. As such, it’s a wonderful getaway that too many people know ab…

Aldaris
Rihards Bražinskis & Raitis Upens are long time associates operating in the sphere of the Baltic experimental music & art scene. They produced already some very fine field recordings/musique concrète under the collective moniker of Phonic Psychomimesis. Here they team up once again for a site-specific unique work around a famous Brewery, witness of Riga’s past industrial greatness…
At the Salt Museum
In December 2015, these three Melbourne musicians camped at Murray Sunset National Park in northern Victoria, Australia, sounding various sites and performing ritualistic actions. This album documents our interactions with rusted salt harvesting machinery discovered at the outdoor 'salt museum' on the shore of the Lake Crosbie saltpan.
Dimensione Sogno
Despite being something of a self-professed “Enthusiast” of exactly this kind of thing - privately-released LPs of minimal, experimental electronic music from the 1970s - I had literally never heard head nor hide of the storied Italian actor - he was in Roger Vadim’s wonderful Barbarella, Tinto Brass’ Attraction, and Vittorio de Sica’s Sunflower, something of a holy trifecta right there -  Umberto di Grazia’s lone musical outing, featuring a series of minimal, experimental electronic etudes real…

Elite Excel
The first taster of Stellar Om Source’s upcoming LP for RVNG Intl., Joy One Mile, ‘Elite Excel’ comes backed with a fantastically brooding remix from Kassem Mosse. Christine Gualdi’s vision of electronic music has expanded since we last checked in; tantric analogue drone sequences have given way to more rugged future-city constructions inspired by her investigation of the roots of New York electro and Detroit techno. ‘Elite Excel’ begins in a nocturnal cruise mode reminiscent of early Carl Craig…
Crystal Smerluvio Riddims
Rainbow Island sound brings together elements of electronics, psych-space rhythms and temporal explorations. Their previous record RNBW was meant to be the inauguration of the project and the launch of the journey to the unexplored Bongolandia, while Crystal Smerluvio Riddims is the continuation of the exploration, brought to a more mature and conscious level. In this new album Rainbow Island’s futuristic psychedelia meets dub and primitive rhythms. In Rainbow Island words, the rhythmical heart …
Ji Ameeto
Babils are an atypical Brussels underground band, mixing rock, new wave, psych, kraut, experimental, and repetitive music. Ji Ameeto is the fourth album from Babils. From the duet formed in the late '90s by Gabriel Séverin and Michel Duyck, opening out over the years, the five current members of Babils meet monthly at the Central Laboratory to improvise freely, without any restraint. All the sessions are recorded and archived. The very first album by Babils, The Joint Between, made of a sele…
Interrogation Of The Crystalline Sublime
"I hear atmospheres, sound shapes, gestural narratives, spectral trajectories, stochastic rhythms and phasic space when I encounter an environment rich in sonic phenomena. But in order to be open to this meta-sensory information, I must first get my ears out of the way. I don't listen with my ears but with an inner sensory apparatus, what Goethe called "organs of perception," that I have developed over the years. Once opened to this world sound becomes something very different—it's as if one cou…
Uno Todo Tres
A beautiful drone like a line shaping in time, from silence to silence. Clara de Asís is an electroacoustic music composer and experimental guitarist, born in 1988 in Spain and based in France. Her musical practice is held away from any formal academicism, aiming to transcend conventional instrumental approaches. She works mainly on prepared electric guitar, focuses on exploring the specificities of her instrument, and develops them both in live situations and throughout electroacoustic composit…
