Back To The Woodlands
Written and recorded between 1972 and 1982 in Western Oregon, Back to the Woodlands is a previously unreleased, and nearly lost, album made by Ernest Hood during the same era as his near mythical album Neighborhoods. A  visionary combination of field recordings, zithers, and synthesizers, Back to the Woodlands offers an unprecedented depth of access to this singular artistic mind. Born into a musical family, Ernest Hood began a promising career as a jazz guitarist during the 1940s, touring inter…

Gift (7")
* 200 copies. 7" vinyl record with poly, two-sided jacket and dust sleeve * Tetuzi Akiyama plays and explores the guitar with both a primitive-instinctual and technically advanced playing style. Ranging from acoustic minimalist reductionism to maximal full throttled amplication, he seeks to energize, electrify, and connect his own body into his playing and performance. His solo albums cover the realms of Americana-fingerpicking, acoustic slide guitar atonalism, noise, drone, and hi-amp’d infi…
Beyond the dark zone
*Limited edition of 300 copies. In process of stocking* "Cristiano Bocci’s Beyond the Dark Zones does just what its title promises. It takes us beyond the heavy sounds of dark ambience—not only beyond them, but through them. Bocci’s poetics is rooted in the electronic soil of texture-based music; the plant that grows from it is a multi-faceted, many-branched thing. First, the electronics. Bocci is a skilled creator of audio software; many of the programs he uses to generate and manipulate sound …

le Milleuna, pièce per Danza di Valeria Magli
This is easily the most frightening and naked recording by Greek vocalist Demetrio Stratos, scripted by poet Nanni Balestrini and later choreographed by Valeri Magli after his death. The text of Le Milleluna was 100 words, all beginning with the letter "s" and all of which had some sexual allusion or connotation. The show that Stratos performed was completely free of all academic exploration. Instead, he had internalized each of these words for an articulation original to the performance of the …
Top Natural Drum
Following releases on West Mineral and Lillerne Tapes, Iggy Romeu’s inimitable Mister Water Wet project makes its Soda Gong debut. “Top Natural Drum” feels like a double entendre ode to digging culture, drawing equally from the plantlife in the dirt and the grooves in the stacks. Tracks like opener “Soak” concoct a haze of resonant ceramic/wooden percs, skittering drum programming, and addictive yet diffuse melodic and harmonic textures. Dusty-fingered nodders like “Caged at Last”, “Classicfit,”…
¡Ay!
Tip! Lucrecia Dalt channels innate sensory echoes of growing up in Colombia on her new album ¡Ay!, where traditional instrumentation encounters adventurous impulse and sci-fi meditations on atemporality in an exclamation of liminal delight. Dalt’s introspective approach to composition, last surfaced on her entrancing 2020 album No era sólida, refracts across ¡Ay! in a subconscious spectrum of the music genres she absorbed as a child. Treasured sounds and syncopations of bolero, mambo, salsa, and…

Few musicians in Spain enjoy such international fame and respect, being able to play with…
Nova
Erlend Apneseth is one of Norway’s foremost Hardanger fiddle players and folk musicians. After being widely recognized with the award-winning and critically acclaimed Erlend Apneseth Trio, he now returns with an acoustic soloalbum. De Bon Astre
Tip! Under the moniker Sourdure, Ernest Bergez works within a hybrid sound field, combining raw electronics (modular synths, feedback), acoustic instruments (violin, voice, foot percussion), and non-musical sounds (field recording, spoken voice). As a guideline, he keeps an underlying effort to melt experiment into popular music and vice versa, taking traditional songs and dancehall themes from the French Massif Central area as the starting point for experimentationFor the first time, I wrote a …

Through A Room
Using the looped-and-screwed methodology of Both, Nace takes a seismic step, building the process into a larger compositional process, employing guitar plus tapes, hurdy gurdy, doughnut pipe, quelle est belle and the nu Nace ax of choice, taishōgoto. Phrases talk to and obliterate each other, expanding and emerging into brave new unheard vistas.
Jaikiera
Ana Arsuaga sings in Basque and recovers the Basque oral tradition in her songs, taking the past to the future. Traditional folk songs and stories as modern day post-pop, with reverb soaked drum-machines and casiotone synths replacing traditional instruments. After releasing her praised and sold out debut LP album Kondaira Eder Hura last year, finally we have this two new songs available on a limited 7".
Negative Tongue
Reissue of the double cassette releases in 2010 on Second Sleep, by the duo of Matteo Castro and Riccardo Mazza. Hailing from the farthest North-East glacial tip of Italy, Lettera 22 utilize elements of musique concrete sound sources, delicately sampled, looped and edited; here is a heavy focus on textures and harsh noise with bouts of restraint and full assault, as usual via analogue tapes manipulation and feedback.
Elements
*In process of stocking.* Since my piece Terrible Fake (Piano, Drums, 2013) and especially Darkroom (Clarinet, Vibraphone, Sampler, 2017), I've been trying to to integrate some grooves into classical contemporary idiom. Since those experiments were mostly for smaller setups, this time I wanted to transfer it into the larger one in order to get more possibilities to work with different textures and coloring within harmonic structures of clusters and chromatic movements of melodies. Constant trans…

Strata

In September 2020 the line-up expands into a trio with the entry of Laura Farneti. Often accumulated in the Italian Occult Psychedelia, the sound of DWR is articulated in a free-from sound that draws in equal measure from drone music, from electro-acoustic improvisation and from an imaginary folk visionary.
