Trumpeter Cicci Santucci and tenor saxophonist Enzo Scoppa had played together since the late 1950s in the Modern Jazz Gang. In June 1971 they recorded this session in Rome at Piero Umiliani's Sound Workshop studio, with the composer producing and writing the liner notes, and it first came out on the Dire label.
The rest of the band: Franco D'Andrea on piano and electric piano, Bruno Tommaso on bass, three percussionists in Bruno Biriaco, Gegè Munari and Roberto Podio, and the Belgian Joel Vandroogenbroeck of Brainticket on organ. Scoppa wrote all ten pieces and Santucci arranged them, short soul jazz and modal numbers such as Camel Walk, Tangana and Generational Gap. This is the 1995 Right Tempo reissue.
