Émile Sornin aka Forever Pavot is currently on an impressive release run. After composing the soundtracks for the films De Nos Frères Blessés by Hélier Cisterne in 2020 and Babysitter by Monia Chokri in 2022, he presented in March a new solo album, L'Idiophone on Born Bad Records, for which he has been touring Europe since its release. The Parisian multi-instrumentalist is already back on BMM with his third soundtrack for Monia Chokri's new film, Simple Comme Sylvain.
"Monia came to me for her previous film Babysitter, she had listened a lot to my 2nd album La Pantoufle during the writing process and she wanted me to compose the music for her second film. As we got on very well, she contacted me again for her 3rd film Simple Comme Sylvain."
This new album rides a deliberately more romantic and melancholic wave than its predecessor, combined with Pavot's retro and vintage sound. "Monia and I share a love of Italian music and 60's soundtracks", explains Forever Pavot, who drew inspiration from composers such as Ennio Morricone, Piero Umiliani and Alessandro Alessandroni to create this heavenly record. Simple Comme Sylvain will be released in theaters this Wednesday, November 8. In the meantime you can already pre-order the vinyl in a classy packaging designed by Eric Adrian Lee. As for the upcoming music, Forever Pavot has an hip-hop EP in collaboration with an American rapper coming in February, and the final EP from La Récré's trilogy, a beautiful 7 inch record, is also waiting patiently in our office and should see the light of day sometime soon.
