The Cable House
Portfolio edition | mini slipcase design with wooden spine. The arrival of a new Andrew Chalk album is always a cause for celebration, and now this record re-appears after a very small vinyl pressing last year. Mr. Chalk has long stood as one of our favorite drone composers over the years, beginning with his early contributions to the more placid Organum recordings, through his exemplary collaborative work in Mirror and Ora, and onto his near perfect catalogue of solo recording self-released thr…
Wild Flowers
*restocked* Andrew Chalk & Tom James Scott released their first duo recording in 2013 through Scott's own Skire label. Wild Flowers saw the delicate surface of Scott's hushed piano playing occasionally blurred by Chalk's sensitive and unique approach to production, unearthing a depth of feeling usually heard as an undercurrent to the muted, almost half-sounded surface notes. Evoking distant childhood summers, strings swell and vanish like flashes of light across a weather-beaten lens, enveloping…
Goldfall
Edition in mini slipcase with wooden spine. "Haunted keyboards extending into the distance, like the recent Andrew Liles The Dying Submariner, this piece puts aside the enveloping blankets of drone for a sparser sound, close in spirit to Harold Budd or William Basinski. This is a superb platter of sonic and visual art." --Synaesthesia Records
East of the Sun
Special portfolio edition - see special editions tab in mini slipcase with wooden spine. East Of The Sun available again though Andrew Chalk's own Faraway Press, complete with breathtakingly resplendent packaging. These recordings originally came out in 1994 as a cassette, released through Ora's in-house label, Ora being an early collective that revolved around Chalk, Colin Potter, and Darren Tate with occasional assistance from Jonathan Coleclough, mnortham, Lol Coxhill, and a handful of …

*Sold out at source, last copies * A 12-CD set definitely constitutes an "immersive experience" with any artist's music. Dense 12 disc collection of Pauline Oliveros' early and unreleased electronic work including her very first piece for tape made in 1961. The majority of these pieces have never before been released. O…
Instants Chevires
Truly an outstanding live document, by the trio comprising Peter Kowald (1944 - 2002), doublebass. Daunik Lazro, alto & baryton saxophones. Annick Nozati (1945 - 2000), voice. Recorded in Instants Chavirés, Montreuil, February 2000 by Jean-Marc Foussat. Duos, trios and one solo from Annick Nozati. The only time they did play together.
28 rue Dunois, juillet 1982
Awesome collective improvisation. "The fundamental tension between freely improvised music’s momentary existence in performance and the monumentalizing impact of media becomes more nuanced with each new delivery system. While MP3 files lack the totemic mass of box sets of discs, they nevertheless have a compensating spectral power. The rise of the archival recording compounds this tension, particularly when one is proffered to be the long-missing puzzle piece that completes the picture of how an…
Syro
Massively anticipated new Aphex Twin album (his first studio content in 13 years) triple LP (pre-order) available at the end of the next week In the official press release from the Warp music label, Aphex Twin was described with the following words: “celebrated and influential electronic fartist.” Fans have been waiting for quite a long time to hear something new from Aphex Twin. The last release from the influential record producer and composer was in 2001 with the full-length album “Drukq…
Live in Montreux
Founded in the Italy centre town of Ancona, Agorà curiously debuted with a live album instead of a studio one: they played an almost-instrumental typical jazz-rock, and they were invited to play at the famous Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland (a place that is most remembered for the fire that inspired Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water"). That's where "Live in Montreux" was recorded, a four-track LP, one of which has been cut in two parts on the two sides of the album.Music, as specified in t…
I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore
"I'm sorry, but any record that opens with a vintage rebetika track is pretty much sold for me, and since this record does, the rest doesn't really matter, it's already awesome. Yep the first track on this killer re-issue is from Marika Papagika and sets the pace (and standard) for the rest of the album, which is a showcase of music recorded in the USA between 1927 and 1948 but rooted in other cultures. So from the initial blast of gorgeous Greek folk, we're thrown into Calypso, Appalachian folk…

Ghost Woman Blues : Country Blues 1927-1952
Compilation of absolutely must-have country blues from Mississippi. A mix of well known artists playing their signature songs and more obscure musicians. Highlights include Bukka White's elemental "Fixin' to die", Lottie Kimbroughs' seldom heard "Don't Speak To Me", George Carters' haunting "Ghost Woman Blues", Willie Browns' existential "Future Blues", Monroe Moe Jackson's wild "Go Away From My Door" and many more hits. The real stuff and some of Mississippi Records all time favorite tunes.
The Crying Princess - 78rpm Records From Burma
Sublime Frequencies enchant with a collection of super rare Burmese popular music dating between 1909 and 1960. Entirely gathered from dusty, almost forgotten 78s discovered by Robert Millis and Alan Bishop on their various trips to the region (now known as Myanmar), 'The Crying Princess' is like a magical portal into a another world, at least from our contemporary western perspective, and further builds on the wealth of obscure music rescued from the country on 'Princess Nicotine', 'Guitars Fro…
Siria
Collection of material from 1975 - 1982 by Brazilian artist Mestre Cupijó, entitled 'Siriá'. Siriá is a cross pollination between the music of the inhabitants of the quilombos, a Brazilian hinterland settlement founded by escaped African slaves, and the indigenous people of the Amazon rainforest. Mestre Cupijó has created the modernised version of this local music, which has been igniting street parties and traditional festivals across the state of Pará in Northern Brazil for decades.
The Journey
South African pianist and composer Abdullah Ibrahim (aka Dollar Brand) featuring Hamiet Bluiett (baritone sax) and Don Cherry (trumpet). Exact repro, originally released in 1977.
Mulatu of Ethiopia
Cool dubbed out percussive afro tribalism with a free jazz spirit like Roland Kirk meeting Fela Kuti. Include vibraphone, saxophone, drum and you get da spiritual fonkjazz! Very cool authentic reissue to save you a few hundred bucks over the stoopid rare original.
Meditations Vol. 1 - 2
The 2 LP in bundle, originally released in the early 1980s on Coloursound (the German library-music label) a combination of exotic instruments, woodwinds, synthesizers, and early digital techniques, the albums present a futuristic landscape that still sounds other-worldly today. A few months Aguirre released Joel Vandroogenbroeck’s first solo effort Biomechanoid, an outstanding dark electronic ambient album. Now we present his two Meditations albums. Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. In these library music alb…
One Hour
In 1994 the seminal electronic duo cluster (dieter moebius & hans-joachim roedelius) continued what they had begun in 1990 with "apropos cluster", their comeback album. the more mature "one hour" condenses essential passages from two lengthy sessions into 60 minutes. we hear sprawling soundscapes, clear acoustic sketches, musical extravaganzas, in short: highly impressionistic electronica.
Synthesist
Repressed; LP version. "Harald Grosskopf was in his early twenties when LSD 'blew [his] reality away,' as he recalls. Born in Hildesheim in 1949, he had previously drummed in fairly conventional rock bands, most recently for Wallenstein. Their label-boss Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser was fond of facilitating jam sessions for musicians on his Ohr und Pilz label, often supplying his 'cosmic couriers' with LSD (unbeknown to them, on occasion). In one such session, the drug inspired something of an epiph…
Early works 1980-82
Vinyl version with 4 tracks (from the 6-track CD). Innersleeve with liner notes and lyrics, as well as photos. With this release, EM Records shine a light into the dark and yet strangely uplifting world of Inryo-fuen's early '80s wonderland: a surreal, adventurously analog, positively negative realm of freedom. Following the EM Records release of Inryo-fuen's enigmatic Ho-aku (EM 1125CD), Early Years 1980-82 collects the band's earliest recordings, originally released on flexi and vinyl, h…
