A Gradual Awakening by Danna and Clement is a landmark Canadian ambient album created in and with the wilds of Ontario during the early 1980s. Built with analog synthesizers and field recordings, the duo’s introspective soundscapes reflect deep environmental and personal connection, evoking both spirit and subtle change across gently unfolding musical landscapes.
The Tinnitus Chorus, a new album from Michael Scott Dawson, is a collaborative ambient project reflecting on his personal experience with tinnitus. Joining forces with an eclectic cast from the worlds of experimental folk, jazz, and electronics, Dawson weaves tape loops, gentle melodies, and field recordings into a quietly unified journey through sound and vulnerability.
Poiesis by o[rlawren] deepens his exploration of sound as organic process, merging modular synthesis and field recordings into a meditation on creation and renewal. Released in 2025 by Dronarivm and Fonodroom, the album extends his dialogue between the natural and the artificial, sculpting an emotionally resonant landscape at once fragile, tactile, and alive.
On The Intimate Overlap, o[rlawren] refines his immersive approach to ambient electroacoustics, weaving field recordings and digital textures into a delicately crafted soundworld. The album unfolds with understated depth and resonance, inviting careful listening into the nuanced emotional spaces that lie between nature and technology.

While traveling home from Nepal that day, my friends and I were delayed for a few hours in Karachi airport because there was a coup happening in Islamabad! We weren't in any danger, but it was still quite intense. Side A features an extended spontaneous harmonium piece entitled 'Ke Garne' (Nepalese for 'What to do')... layered harmonium …
2010 release ** Limited edition of 100 copies. Packaged in an oversize cardboard sleeve. ‘Il Giro Del Mondo In 80 Pezzi’, that is ‘around the world in 80 tracks’. That’s right, 80 tracks here, in seventy-seven minutes. All around a minute or less. A bit of worn out idea if you’d ask me, but to present this like a audio version of Jules Verne, is perhaps nice. Gasparin gets help from one Jacopo Andreini, with whom he has been active in the world of improvised since the early 90s. Together they a …

Tender / Wading finds Matthew Sage, aka M. Sage, in the foothills and pastures of Colorado, writing, recording, and returning to a patch of his homeland and identity, one act of sympathetic care informing the next. Constructed primarily on piano and clarinet, and then embellished with guitar, modular synthesizer, percussion, and field recordings captured around the perimeter of his home, the album is a sweeping, serene vision of vitality, radical softness, and the reassuring sense of coming home…
This piece is the newest element in the ongoing Garden Of Instruments project which began in 1997 with Second Site.Since then the project has expanded to include sound, writings, video, virtual photography, printmaking, light-boxes, installations and lenticulars. The new piece, which at one hour and twenty-five minutes is broken across two CDs, further explores the astronomical/architectural phenomena of the Janta Manta instruments. To me they have always stood as monuments that collapse the ill…
Is it possible for an instrument to be cursed? Every sound on 'Horns of Death' comes from a replica fox-hunting horn bought online. The album is an open-ended investigation of this replica, exploring how a copy of a tool designed for a specific function could act as an instrument when misused and removed from its intended role. Recorded in a bedroom in a small flat in south-east London then squeezed into a computer, for some tracks the horn is (literally) pulled apart to find what other sound so…
Developed over three years across residencies, tours, and periods of deep listening, “Your Whistle Tells of Landscape” finds Australian sound artist Alexandra Spence continuing her investigations into the perceptual entanglements of sound, place, memory, and imagination. Like much of the artist’s work, it unfolds at the liminal edge between the real and the imagined — between what is heard and what is remembered. Composed from a constellation of materials gathered across sites and seasons — snow…
*50 copies limited edition* »Downriver« unfolds like a dérive through obscured geographies, echoing the psychogeographic journeys of Iain Sinclair. Just as Sinclair’s writing blurs the tangible and the imagined, Sequences, the project of Antwerp-based artist Niels Geybels, drifts into spaces where memory and environment overlap. Single-take recordings stretch into slowly mutating drones, fractured textures, and ghostlike voices that seem to seep in from unseen thresholds. The atmosphere is one o…

*150 copies limited edition* The six Fragments of this album are stages of a personal journey, stories, events or moments that marked us and stay inside us like shards, foreign objects we learned to embrace. Mirco Salvadori wrote the stories. Barbara De Dominicis sings, declaims and whispers words and excerpts of the text.
Federico Mosconi composed the music playing guitars, devices, live electronics and field recordings. 'My music would have been incomplete without Barbara and Mirco, I'd like t…
Ecological Plantron was a CD released in 1994, the audio document of an installation held in 1994 at a gallery in Tokyo. The Plantron is a bioelectric interface developed by botanist Yuji Dogane; it was designed to give voice to plants, using electronic means to make audible the energy of the natural world, prioritizing the non-human aspects of nature. Dogane was assisted in the project by composer Mamoru Fujieda, who helped to convert the vegetal energies into audible sounds. Though they stress…

Matt Shoemaker's art focuses upon the treatment of sonic phenomena. Shoemaker manipulates sound, sourced from both natural and electronic means, in an affected and often grotesque manner, so as to convey compositions that uniquely imagine a space encrypted to the point of vanishing definition.
2022 release ** R. Pierre (Caleb Dravier) is a Los Angeles based artist and composer exploring minimal / “absolute” music through reductionism and the recontextualization of small-sound phenomena in processed field recordings and microelectronics.
